Up for grabs is a 2998-2 Speedmaster, August 31,1960 extract with delivery to the US Army Foreign Exchanges Dial/Hands: Original and correct 2998-2 dial (A4 style from MWO), with short minute counter subdial indices. It’s a very and even black, lume plots have nice patina. Original lume barely lights up in a couple very small spots under UV. I get a reading of 5 uSv/h on an inexpensive Geiger counter. White hands may have been repainted at some time over their life and show marks from removal/reassembly, but match the patina of the watch nicely. Case: Straight lug symmetrical case has been polished in the distant past. Case shows wear/scratches/dings, but nothing deep or that seems out of place I would pick out that doesn’t match the overall patina. Case back has a nice hippocampus and good threads. Omega replacement crystal. Bezel: Worn/Ghost Base 1000 DON (rare) that I purchased from a trusted forum member. When I purchased the watch it had a later replacement. Movement: 321 looks to be in good condition, service history unknown. It winds smoothly and keeps good time, chrono functions work. Bracelet/Strap: Sold head only, no strap or bracelet is included Accessories: Omega Extract Of The Archives showing US Army Foreign Exchange Delivery. I am asking $19,200 US shipped worldwide via FedEx with Parcel Pro. Payment accepted via wire. I'm located in Chicago (USA). I am after a Daytona 116500 or a 116519LN (Steel dial, black sub dials) and would be interested in a trade (+ cash from me depending on the watch of course). References are available by request or in the feedback section of the forum. Please PM me if you have any questions. Thanks OF for the space!
Let’s not debate in a for sale listing. FWIW, would've taken this already if it hadn't already just bought one.
Responding to a request to post the notch between the lugs, which I believe only shows up on early cases. Apologies for the subpar photography skills, but it’s there
