Check out my Omega Seamaster 300 2264.50...and what about a backup movement?

I just picked up a newish Seamaster quartz on eBay. I overpayed but I wanted one that looked new. It wasn’t quite as nice as advertised, but it is damn close. I used to have a blue bond 300 but I always wanted the black. Anyway, I am back in the omega club!

Anyway, I have been looking for one of these for a while, as this is the best looking modern Seamaster in my eyes, and I wanted one in quartz because I wanted it to be a low hassle, accurate daily driver. However, is there any way to pick up a spare movement and set it aside for a rainy day just in case this quartz movement dries up in the future. I have read that many times they just throw away the movement and drop in a new one. Anyway, can I just buy a generic eta and keep it for the future? Or will these be serviceable forever?

@Greg Bell - Exactly what does this watch have to do with a Speedmaster? It's a Seamaster.

Or do you have Speedmasteronthebrain disease too?

EDIT: I see you fixed the title. Thank you.

I was just scanning eBay for a replacement for my speedy I foolishly sold a few years back.
