·Sorry to clog up these hallowed pages but this is really bugging me and I figured if anyone knew it would be you lot.
So: I saw a watch (made by whom? I can't remember and that's the problem) that, iirc, pre-dates the Speedmaster but which had almost identical dial layout, including the dot-dash-dot at 12 o'clock. Basically making the Speedy a copy of an earlier design.
Iirc it's a mid-1950s chronograph, NOT by Omega and presumably powered by a Lemania (2310?). However the exact make and model is eluding me.
Whether that watch was also designed by Claude Baillod I do not know.
10p to the first member who can tell me the watch I'm trying to remember!
