I guess that’s where you developed your keen respect for their opinion. As you put it a few posts back…

Yes, that's my opinion. It's just an opinion like all the others posted here...no more, and no less.

WTF are you talking about? Seriously you are delusional...

ok if you say so. however everyone including the OP seems to be in a good mood, having a bit of fun and enjoying this thread except you. maybe as someone else pointed out, that's just your style of posting.

I do say so - a post similar to yours was (I guess) about service pricing gets posted here oh at least once every week or more, so trust me you are not special enough to get me riled up if the 1000 or so previous similar posts I've seen here weren't. 😀😀

oh but you did get "riled up". anyways let me be the first to say mazel tov if you can pull down that kind of coin servicing common time-only movements as I would never want to get in the way of someone's earn. at least we both have valid reasons for our opinions right? Al? 😀

@janice&fred Don’t let @Archer our resident cantankerous watchmaker get under your skin. You’ll see we (and I’m sure several other members here) go back a while. 😉

Riled up at your notion that someone who doesn't conform to your tastes has "no taste" yes, I did. About the other posts you are referring to, again it's a common theme here so not a big deal to me. As you know, I'm plenty busy.

Speaking of someone's earn, happy to help you get to 200 quickly. As an aside will you be offering free Seiko 5's with every watch you sell here once you hit the magic 200? If so, the Seiko guys here are gonna love your sales posts. 😀😀😀😀

thanks Al and you're almost correct but it was divers, not Seiko 5's that my wife gave for free with any watch she was selling on the military watch forum 😀

anyways 200 posts is not some sort of goal of mine on this site as i'm more into the buying end of things than selling, but thanks for the help nonetheless!

No. That’s your opinion of the sentiments of others on this forum. You are a class act! The quintessential big fish in a little pond.

Good. Let people finally see you for who your really are. Intolerant and disrespectful of the opinions of others. I’m sure that is what this forum was built upon.

What do you think? Still too big?

it does look a lil large. but the pic u provided is still somewhat of a close up shot and not a distance shot. just because the lugs appear to over hang doesn't mean that they are in real life.

No, that would be zero help. What you’re failing to recognize is that the people that post those threads truly want the opinions of people on this forum who are allegedly knowledgeable about watches. It’s not like they posted the thread to show off their new watch and members started peppering them with comments about it being too big, too small, etc. They are the ones who are looking for an opinion, validation, or whatever. It’s only fair to provide one. We’ve all been there!
You don't know what I do or do not realize. In my opinion, it makes no sense to buy a watch based on how others think it looks, only on how you think it looks. I am as entitled to state my opinion as you or anyone else is on this forum. However, it is unfortunate that you feel the need to attack opinions that do not align with yours.

When you have been here for the amount of “does this look big” “should I buy this” “which one is better ( same watch mind you just a different colour bezel )”
With 10 pages of views from different countries, styles and ages I can see why the
“Just get it” comes from.

Funny thing is @Archer has been one thing the whole time he has been here like myself

Buy what you like, Why ask strangers.

Frig ask about a blue or black watch and 30% will say get the white one and 10% will want a brown one that doesn’t exist 😗

the more I spend time on this forum the more I start to get used to and understand Al. yea we have had our disagreements but he was the first one to respond with answers when I sent out a few private messages on a watch problem I had. he does know his stuff and more than willing to help out.

I have had the same experience- heated debate on forum but very pleasant and helpful dialogue via PM simultaneously! I had a boss with whom I would argue fiercely in the office and at exactly 12 he would pause the arguement and say “it’s lunch time- shall we grab a bite to eat?” Lovely lunch and pleasant conversation- then back to the office and arguement resumes.

IMO, a watch is supposed to make you feel good, regardless of what others think. Having said that, if you wore it a little higher on your wrist it would look much better.

Enjoy!
My motto exactly. I have a 6.5" or less wrist but I have Panera and could care less what people think. I wear summer clothes during winter-inside the apt here in NYC that is ;-)

My wrist is 6.75 inches and I currently don't own anything larger than my 40mm Stowa Flieger. It's a manual wind and is only 8.5mm high so it doesn't seem to wear as large for that reason.

It’s a pilot watch; it should wear big. I believe divers and pilot timepieces get a pass.

If I am correct that is the reference 2806. According to the Omega website the case diameter is 49.2 mm. Here’s the thing, that size would wear very large on almost everyone. Additionally, the watch has almost no bezel and a very large dial. This makes it wear even larger. If you are a large watch guy then go for it.

I think this sums up the situation here nicely. A 49.2mm all dial watch is going to look large on any wrist unless your name happens to be Hafþór Björnsson.

I guess the real question is how confident /comfortable are you wearing it? If you're the type that can be put off or start doubting your own opinion when random folks may makes comments like "wow that watch is huge!" then it probably isn't for you. If you really couldn't care less about such comments and are happy with it then you'll be fine.

In your later photo it definitely looks very large, but that's more down to the watch than not suiting your wrist. It is what it is.

In my opinion: way too large on your wrist, looks disproportionate, so not nice.
