If I am correct that is the reference 2806. According to the Omega website the case diameter is 49.2 mm. Here鈥檚 the thing, that size would wear very large on almost everyone. Additionally, the watch has almost no bezel and a very large dial. This makes it wear even larger. If you are a large watch guy then go for it. However, the fact that you are questioning the choice means that you don鈥檛 want a watch that wears too big. The answer to your question is yes, it is a big watch and it definitely wears big. You would have to have an 8 inch plus size wrist to carry this one off without it looking big. At the end of the day it鈥檚 your watch and your wrist so wear what you like. If it were me I would go for the 39 mm version.
Amen! This should be copy/pasted into every "what do you think", "help me decide" etc. thread
No, that would be zero help. What you鈥檙e failing to recognize is that the people that post those threads truly want the opinions of people on this forum who are allegedly knowledgeable about watches. It鈥檚 not like they posted the thread to show off their new watch and members started peppering them with comments about it being too big, too small, etc. They are the ones who are looking for an opinion, validation, or whatever. It鈥檚 only fair to provide one. We鈥檝e all been there!
Yes, I still think it鈥檚 way too big for your wrist, and it probably would be for most guys. Just my opinion - please don鈥檛 bust my chops. Happy Holidays!
I really didn't know there was a diameter of 39 mm. I will do my best to get that watch and show you the before and after so you can tell the difference
I owned this exact model for very short period of time. I have 7.5 in wrists and loved the look of it, just not on my wrist. It was obnoxiously huge. Also, one of the first times I wore it, some non watch stranger made a smart ass comment about it's size and that was it. I traded it shortly after that. Like some have said, it is a personal preference, and my personal preference shrunk significantly after owning it. I own a PO chronograph and that is as large as I go. One of the things that makes it look so large, is the dial is not much smaller than the case. If I would have bought the 39.5mm instead, I probably would still have it.
@Archer ...Al, you are absolutely right. This is a collector community and our tastes run to the classical. It does occur to me that @watchdaddy1 and some of our Paneristi could provide some insight on how to sport a large watch. One thought @leandroquezada, head over to aaronbespoke.com and have a look at his straps. He鈥檚 good matching straps to watches. Changing that black strap to something bolder might make it work.
it does look a lil large. but the pic u provided is still somewhat of a close up shot and not a distance shot. just because the lugs appear to over hang doesn't mean that they are in real life.
Since you ask for an opinion, I can give you mine. I think it looks big on your wrist in that picture. However, my opinion comes from my own personal preferences. I prefer small watches.
You are right, but you think that although the watch is very beautiful it is not worth using?
My personal view is if there should be at least some strap curve top and bottom of the watch, if the strap is pulled vertically down from the lugs then it's too large. Worse still is if the lugs are protruding over the edges of the wrist.
Only you can answer that question.
I would not use it because I don't find it nice to look at or comfortable to wear, so no no, and the world is awash with watches (specially vintage) I find both nice to look at on my wrist and comfortable to wear. My wrist is also small BTW.
