If I was to bid at this moment with the bids now at $1792 and being in Europe, I would have to pay a guaranteed extra $492 tax taking it already to $ 2284 plus shipping.

Then find and buy a bezel and get the insert made plus return shipping, so probably somewhere between 500 and 700 Euros for that.

Then a service and something would have to be done with the case pitting, so 175 Euros for the service and the who knows how much to do whatever with the case. A new crystal, something with the hands, correct bracelet and ends...........

Just doesn´t add up for me.
Those Dutch customs enforcement guys are far too efficient... In Australia they only look at it if its valued over $1k, and even then they rarely care. Its a line of work I'd love to be in, tax assessor for the customs department, one of the few departments where the less competent you are the more the public appreciates your work.

Wow. Taxed pretty high over there in Europe. We pay nuttin' here in the US. I giggle every time I sell to someone in the EU and they private mail me EXACTLY the value to state on customs.

Yes they are extremely efficient here when it comes to tax collecting

Anything with a declared value over 22 Euros (including postage 😵‍💫 ) will get hit with 21% VAT.

If the value is above 150 Euros it will be 21% VAT + 4.2% `import rights` + the little added sting in the tail of 13 Euros `declaration costs`

So a 150 Euro item with 25 Euros postage will end up costing Euro 175 + 44.1 ( 25.2% ) + 13 = 232.10 Euros

Went for $2.2K. Wow. The buyer will be easy to find. "Wanted: 2913 bezel, crystal, case, case back, dial, hands, etc."

I think it's a reasonable price and can be restored to look nice. However for these watches, an original bezel with the insert in nice shape is more important than an original dial in nice shape.
