I once let this one slip away for less than $500 thinking a vintage dial could never be found. Had I not, I'd have no problem bidding a couple grands for that one.

Not all of his watches are in such condition.

    This for example..........::love::

I won't post the link, you have to do some very basic detective work.

You know the seller? I like this watch, too, but prefer the divers right now.

    No, total stranger.

But whenever a member posts a link to a watch they are questioning, I always look at the sellers other items.

That way I get to see some that may be of interest without sandbagging the OP and his chance.

Nice jumbo bumper! But the listing was cancelled because of error, did you get a better deal?

Let the real bidding begin now! ::popcorn::

This is an opportunity for someone with unlimited time and money.

But the results may be worth it.

It's there now and I'm going to "out" it.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1954-Omega-...ist-Watch-2765-3-SC-Outstanding-/291349403221Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

If you are in a country where the seller will not ship, sometimes eBay won't show the listing. Try using the US eBay site if you think that is happening.

I've had similar issues with some European listings.

Yes I wonder what is hiding under that newish looking case gasket....

The watch to me is a basket case with every area of it needing serious money and attention.

I don´t see it going that much higher and as it is being sold via the global shipping program I don´t see it coming to Europe either.

I'm not bidding but I think it will go significantly higher.

If I was to bid at this moment with the bids now at $1792 and being in Europe, I would have to pay a guaranteed extra $492 tax taking it already to $ 2284 plus shipping.

Then find and buy a bezel and get the insert made plus return shipping, so probably somewhere between 500 and 700 Euros for that.

Then a service and something would have to be done with the case pitting, so 175 Euros for the service and the who knows how much to do whatever with the case. A new crystal, something with the hands, correct bracelet and ends...........

Just doesn´t add up for me.

It's like a car restoration, the rougher it is the cheaper it is to buy. But the flip side is it costs more to restore and will never be as nice as a good one.
