Make sure you only wear COCS (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Commode) watches in the toilet.

Great, just what we need. A WUS-type thread titled "What Watch Do You Wear in the Crapper?"

Should be a chronograph so you can time yourself- regularity is key! But if you bring a device in and surf eBay- that throws the whole timing thing off

Depending on your deductible, it might be worth making a homeowners insurance claim for a complete like-new repair.

What? I thought we already had this settled.

Always take your watch off before you sit down - just in case you fall in (or are dragged in by one of the alligators that hide in our sewer systems), the watch won’t get wet or lost.

And please let’s not talk about all the damage that that fast swirling water will do to the watch’s water resistance if somebody flushes before you are rescued.

You own the watch, not the other way arround. Don’t feel bad when you look at the marks, instead be proud of the robustness of the design. Took a fall, still working fine, still looks great. At a certain point in time, someone will probably be moved by the marks you left behind on your watch... 😀

Life’s to short te feel bad about this sort of thing. Wear your Speedy with pride!

Sorry I’m missing something I don’t see anything wrong with the case?
Isn’t that just the new extremely limited edition 1 of 1 omega speedmaster personal edition? Congrats!

Sorry that happened to you, I know it sucks!

Be thankful that its still running, get the bracelet fixed and dont worry about the dent. You wont be fearful wearing that anywhere from now on, it has received its badge of honor. Get it polished to a resonable condition if you wish, just accept the fact that it wont be 100% pristine and move on.

It survived the accident, could be worse.

OP reading your actual story about how you damaged your watch on the wall, i could somehow hear the raking sound that would have made against the wall and it reminds me of the occasions you misjudge the roadside and scrape your brand new 20" alloy wheels against the concrete. That sound really hurts.

But like that- once you rash your rims- you really don’t care anymore.

Wow, no way man! That looks worse than it really is! Thankfully omega clasps are not the craziest of prices, but none the less it is no fun banging up something as beautiful as that! Usually and odly I enjoy the scuffs I create over time but in this case I think its just to much, time for that repair and hope it gets back on your wrist soon my friend!

Ooof that’s a tough one. Good luck with the repair.

I fell down my steps last year while wearing my Panerai on a Panerai rubber strap. As I fell and started bouncing down the steps my watch strap actually caught the end of the banister and kept me from falling farther, which was lucky. Equally lucky, my 177 seemed totally fine.

Why don’t we have a “that sucks” button!

Hello everyone,

I have an update to my banged up Speedmaster . . .

Picked it up from the boutique this afternoon after dropping it off Monday morning. It seems the movement and watch body passed all tests and is running fine which was great news. The bracelet clasp however was completely shot. Unfortunately, the clasp alone for the new style bracelet is not yet an orderable part and there is no estimation of when it will be available. They did however have a new complete bracelet in stock and offered that to me at a significant discount because they felt bad about the whole situation. All in all, I ended up pretty lucky I think given the potential damage that could have happened with a situation like this. Needless to say, I was extremely pleased and grateful for the kind and generous service I received at the Omega Boutique. Speedy is back on my wrist tonight and at least I can always tell which one is mine now. 😎

The old bracelet threw itself on the grenade for you, you should have it put in a shadow box and hang it above the toilet

That is not what I expected when I red „banged“ but don’t worry too much... my brother wanted to try on my speedmaster once and of course he dropped it. After two visits at an AD and Omega it was like new and really not too expensive.

My late father fell SEVERAL times wearing his Moonwatch (not to mention that he NEVER cleaned or cared for it properly). I sent it to Omega for a full service after I inherited it, and it was still only running +5 seconds per day (calibre 1861, non-chronometer)! Only my Master Chronometer SMP300 and my quartz pieces run better. Consider this my endorsement. Shame about the bracelet though.

I literally just did this tonight. I was about to fall and instinctively reached for a wall and my watch caught on the corner and ripped right off and fell to a hard tile floor 3 or 4 feet down. I'm really sick about it right now. So far though it seems to be keeping time but the bracelet is going to need some work. Also put a nice dent in the side of the case.

I'm going to head to the boutique tomorrow morning to try and see what can be done.

Great outcome after an unfortunate event. Speedy is well and truly christened so enjoy it for years to come.
