Thanks Pianotuna, I'm really excited to be geting my first vintage Seiko. Feels like I'm tottering on the edge of the rabbit hole once again.
That’s terrific mate, definitely a wonderful entry into the world of the big Seiko chronographs. I’ve had several of them, the UFO, a couple of the 6139’s and both the 6138 bullhead Chronograph like yours and my current one, a JDM Speedtimer, which is like yours but with a few small differences. No lume on the hands, a red sweephand and an original bracelet but not the rib style.
Your watch looks really nice. When you get it you’ll see the clear distinctions on the case between the polished sides and the brushed upper surfaces. Some of these get polished to blazes by people who just don’t know the difference. The edges are yours are quite clearly defined which bodes well.
Let us know how it feels on the wrist when it arrives.
