This arrived yesterday, thanks to OF's Danish prankster @ConElPueblo.

A brief recap:

Being obsessed with the less common varieties of cal. 1040 as I am, I have been wanting a Mark IV with blue on the 9:00 subdial for many months. This dial is only a service dial and was never originally installed on watches in the 70s. As such the only way to get one is to acquire a tired Mark IV and send it off to Omega for many months and at great expense or buy one that was already overhauled. Normally I prefer all-original to the Swatch treatment, but in this case because I want that dial it actually makes for a better match to have a watch with modern replacement parts. In other words, a dinged up case and non matching 40 year old hands wouldn't match with a modern dial.

I found one in Germany, but months of polite pestering couldn't convince the seller to ship it to the US. That's when Troels stepped up and kindly offered to be my "man in Europe". He even used his "Jedi mind trick" negotiating skills to save me a significant amount of money on the purchase!

He sent it off promptly, then it sat in customs for a week in a warehouse that I drove past twice a day commuting to work. So close! Once released from customs, the USPS took another week to send it 200 miles PAST my house before finally delivering it yesterday. When I opened the box there was some local flavor - a package of licorice! Thanks Troels, you truly are a great Dane!

Hi

I have a soft spot for co branded omega . Plus a Seamaster date chronometer , the granddad of the aqua terra line ....( that is where omega got the inspiration for the line by the way ).

I have too many of these !

Good hunting

Interesting! This is the second time I've seen Turler/ Omega combination. A colleague of mine has a Cosmic with Turler brand on the dial as well!

This came in the mail today; A '67 Bulova Commander.

Case is near mint, dial has a couple of minor dings, nice movement.

Off to rehab and find a nice bracelet...

Or maybe I'm gonna keep it on the band it came with. I looked closer at it and it's a black lizard with a cool fine crosshatch design on the buckle. Vintage and barely worn.
