·I disagree. I polished off the ar on my first 8500 planet ocean and it made a huge difference. I ended up selling it off because I felt it really ruined it

My goal was to replace it with a speedmaster, but I broke and ended up buying the exact same watch but with orange numerals. And an intact AR coating of course😉
There is a reason that camera lenses are coated both on the outside and the inside surfaces... it’s no different for a watch crystal. ...................

Yes, but a camera lens is much less prone to get scratched.
..we should quit posting useless remarks then. 😀
Well yes and no (I guess it depends on how you use/treat your watch or lens. The number one reason photographers put a filter on their lenses is to protect the front element from scratching. Cheaper to replace a filter than the front element. Maybe OP needs a protector dome over his crystal...jk
Photo's show with scratched AR and with removed AR.
You can see how 'milky' looking the dial is with the AR, removed it's like the dial has been polished and IMO, no more or less reflections.
An improvement in my eyes.
I'm sorry, and I don't want to be rude, but... if you want to proof your point, you have to take pictures under a bright sky, not in a dark room with one light spot. It's obvious that a dark room doesn't makes reflections. Sorry, again. 😗
I removed the ar too..
Actual message sent to my AD from Omega.
Hey Paul, just heard back from Omega. They say that it isn’t the first time they’ve received complaints about the coating but they do deem it down to wear and tear so it isn’t covered by warranty unfortunately 🙁
That's all from me now.
Like I said, I prefer it without.
Daylight photo just taken at the angle I view my watch when looking at it on my wrist...perfect!
