AR Scratches

I used autosol, really easy and looks great.
Haven't really hammered it?
I wear it everyday for work, sometimes in a dusty environment but I had an original Bond Blue Wave dial, quartz and that didn't show a scratch. I don't think they put the AR on those though? Better off without it because I love the watch itself.

Wow, these are some crispy photos. Looks great!
Macro is too good!
You start looking at these closely and you'd never wear the watch!

I'm having buyer's remorse for my ordinary-in-comparison 38mm Aqua Terra seeing all these SM300 photos. I've got tiny 6.3" wrists though so I barely pull it off. I did try it on in an AD a few months back. What do you reckon? https://imgur.com/gallery/KKizo1f

I see your concern too bad those lugs weren’t curved. Still I think you could have pulled it off certainly the diameter is fine. If it would have bothered you it might not have been worth it.

Gah, I know. I went safe and I shouldn't have. I guess it isn't too late to sell and swap. Watch this space!

Thanks! The dial was so spectacular - absolutely nothing could've bothered me about that thing... I may grab it soon.

Ok guys, autosol used, couldn't live with it any longer. It looks amazing and a prefer the blackness of the black rather than the purple/blue hue.

Looks amazing! Can you please link me exactly what you used. I google it and it seems like its for metals.

Yes, it is a metal polish!
I only used a cloth and did it by hand on the crystal.

At work today under a certain light I could still see a slight purple hue in places on the crystal, so 2 coats of autosol polished off with the dremmel and 2 coats polished off by hand. Think I've got it this time?

Actual message sent to my AD from Omega.

Hey Paul, just heard back from Omega. They say that it isn’t the first time they’ve received complaints about the coating but they do deem it down to wear and tear so it isn’t covered by warranty unfortunately 🙁

Wow - I guess they still continue to stand behind their decision to coat both sides anyway? I guess they must know something we don't.

Well, from this experience, I would recommend to anyone to polish it off. Easy, 10-15 mins.

Why would you put something that scratches very easily on something that doesn't?
ie, AR coating on a sapphire crystal!
The whole point of the sapphire crystal is to be scratch resistant, the AR clearly isn't.
Please, someone explain the logic and why whoever came up with this idea is actually getting paid!

Here’s the logic: watches are made to tell what time is it; with AR you see the hands; without AR you see reflections. Simple.

With AR:
- If you scratch it, you can remove it.
- If you don’t scratch it, you enjoy your display like the crystal doesn’t exist.

Without AR:
- you see reflections all the time.

Disagree sorry.
I have removed the outer AR and it really is no great difference apart from the dial looking so much brighter. This model has AR on the inside of the crystal also, a little over kill IMO.

Personally, I'd rather have AR coating applied on the inside only on any watch from any brand.

I disagree. I polished off the ar on my first 8500 planet ocean and it made a huge difference. I ended up selling it off because I felt it really ruined it
