100% sure the AT!! I don't like the Globemaster, does not do the pie-pan legacy justice.

Personally I wouldn't be able to choose between either, they're both stunning watches.

The Aqua Terra seems a little more versatile as an everyday watch, plus it has higher water resistance and that all important screw-down crown (presuming you'll be taking the watch underwater), which the GM does not have.

The Globemaster however just has that timeless look to it, like the kind of watch that you'll pass down to your children, if that's important to you then by all means go for the GM.

As said both are amazingly nice watches, I'm sure you won't regret getting either.

You’re so right. The best way to do a legacy pie pan justice is to put a steak and ale pie in it.

Oh my !!!
The GM is basically the closest you can come to the term "understated luxury"! Classy, smaller, pretty and both a true classic in its design!

This is exactly why the GM got my vote in this round. I never got a watch handed down to me, but I intend to start that tradition, and this feels like the right piece for it.

So guys
Just been to look at both watches again, love them both
I went for the Aqua Terra. I might even get the GM in the future
The blue aqua Terra is so lovely, and I loved the rubber strap (my first even non metal strap) and that and the screw down crown just pipped the GM for everyday on holiday
Thanks for all you ideas and pics
Great choice! Love mine

I was glad to stumble across this thread after today, I went to an OB to look at an AT 231.10.42.21.03.003 convinced I'd be buying it after weeks of hunting and months of research. Whilst I was in there I thought why not have a glance at a GM...oh dear. The size just seemed a better fit than the 41.5 AT for me. I had to leave, I think I may end up with a GM blue dial.

A GM is still very much on my radar as it would be my go to dress piece but still unsure if it will be a blue or silver dial and have yet to see one in the metal. My want list is racking up however and a GM is getting pushed down the queue as I already have a 1970s Constellation which has scratched the pie pan itch for the time being.

When I do push the button though I suspect I'll go grey or pre-owned to save £s vs. RRP... unless my AD can do one heck of a deal!

I had the most bizarre first ever experience at the OB, I was so close to buying the AT (even had it sized for my wrist, and they had got a bottle of Bollinger out as a gift) but for some reason their card machines weren't working and they didn't have another solution, with my car parking running out too I took this as a sign and left. I was surprised they didn't have an alternative solution or tell me before spending 2 hours there that they had issues with their card machine. It dawned on my why the gentleman leaving as I arrived was so annoyed, so they lost 2 sales in a day. Not their fault, but there you go.

I think I was lucky as I was so on the fence between the AT and GM, a huge deciding factor was the AT cost £4000 and the GM Blue Dial cost £6100. I just couldn't justify the huge increase I hadn't planned for. Since getting home I have found the GM Blue Dial new/unboxed for around £4700 so that makes it much more feasible. Just kicking myself for not taking any pics of the GM. I can say though the blue dial is mesmerising.
.I think l will have to try a GM again in the metal, take photos and then decide. The hunt continues 😀

Both are great watches that I really like. That said, I have the AT with the black dial and if I would only have one watch, this would probably be the one. It is more capable with a more than respectable water resistance of 150m. I wear it on the bracelet, on the (excellent!) rubber strap, on leather and on NATOs and it never looks out of place... If this is something that is relevant to you, feel free to check my IG feed, you will find the AT on different straps there (@maskwp ; ) It can be easily dressed up or down.

In the end, it is your decision that should be based on what YOU like most on your wrist, not what others in a forum might recommend. Both are suitable for daily wear and the "use cases" you have mentioned - the AT might be a little bit better suited for adventures though...

Aqua Terra Skyfall or Spectre vs Globemaster is a tough and tight call but the new AT vs Globemaster is a no brainier....

When time allows, I'd go back to the OB with the aim to seriously look at both side by side and get some pics on and off the wrist to make a decision.

As you well know with the vintage pieces you've been picking up, there's no need to rush into a decision on either, both are readily available new, grey or pre-owned.

For me, the Silver Snoopy is next. At that point, I'll be taking a breather to assess my pocket money savings plan for my next grail as I'm aiming to only pick up a special piece every couple of years or so.

Beautiful watch! You really should team it with a new s/s milanese - oh, wait...😁
Just hope Bienne is watching this.👍

The blue GM is an incredible watch -- the blue and pie pan are great combination and it looks different depending on the light, ranging from inky indigo to almost teal. Here's a recent shot:

I would though continue looking around at the grey market for a GM at you should be able to find a better deal than GBP 4700. I picked mine up not that long ago for under USD 4000. It was essentially brand new and came with all boxes/papers/etc. Whoever had it before me must've taken the stickers and tags off, worn it a couple of times, and then sold it.
