I have recently been blown away by two watches. The new Aqua Terra 41mm with a blue face and a blue/grey dial and the Globemaster 39mm with the blue face and metal strap (probably would buy a leather strap as well)

    In summary:

GM: Its more beautiful. The pan pie dial is a knock out and the contrast with the flutted bevel is stunning
AT: Its more practical/general purpose. The screw down crown means I will be more comfortable to swim with it

I have an opportunity of discounts of both with come to roughly the same price (not exactly but not enough to influence the decision)

It will be a daily wearer for me at work (desk job) and weekends (jeans)

What do you guys thing (acknowledging that the AT is a more popular model, but I want to disregard this in making a decision) ?

For daily use I would pick the AT.

I feel like the AT's dial actually is more elaborate in person than the GM. The latter's pie pan seems to lack depth in person, and it ends up not being as appealing as I thought it would be.

For me the GM... but while it can be worn casual as a sports watch esp on leather... there is a good argument the AT fits your needs better.

    thank you
Obviously the GM is more expensive and elaborate and the AT is less
tell me more about your GM

I don’t have one. But if I ever get an office job again it’s my consolation gift to myself.

I had the same decision - and honestly both are very nice, as you say the AT is more practical and the GM dressier. In the end I went with the AT, it had a more interesting look (the way the dial shimmers/changes colours) and is the rarer watch, you see fewer of them. I swapped the metal bracelet for a blue leather strap.

Both are really nice. The globe master is on sale if you are in UK.

I vote for AT. If I want a GM I'd go for a vintage one.

Ohhh! You've got a window frame around your date window! Covetable indeed.

I'm not even 30 years old yet, so i took the AT for its versatility, sporty with the bracelet and handsomely officious on a black strap.

If i were a little older though, GM hands down. Really wish they made a nice GMT version of it

Yup- it’s a beautiful watch, very elegant and uncluttered. I wear it work with a suit or with smart jeans..

    So guys
Just been to look at both watches again, love them both
I went for the Aqua Terra. I might even get the GM in the future
The blue aqua Terra is so lovely, and I loved the rubber strap (my first even non metal strap) and that and the screw down crown just pipped the GM for everyday on holiday
Thanks for all you ideas and pics
