One would be the 60th anniversary of Star Trek, with its iconic launch in 1966, it will be a major theme for the franchise in 2026 !

I know this makes me a “bad” Omega fan, but am I the only one who couldn’t possibly care less about yet another Speedy release? I’d be more excited if they announced some new DeVille Tresors at this point.

I wasn`t far off 😅, it is Chinese year of the Fire Horse according to Oris, so lots of brands will do something in red.

I'm in the same boat. I appreciate the Speedy but the design doesn't speak to me so I don't own any. And probably never will.

For me, it's not even about a lack of admiration for the Speedy. I'm not a chronograph guy---just not a complication I'd use---but I can appreciate the history and the beauty of the Moonwatch and if I had unlimited watch-buying funds, I could imagine picking one up as part of a collection. (It's certainly more attractive than the super-busy Daytona---I'll never understand the fuss over that watch.)

I'm just tired of all the new "special" versions and LEs, etc, in that line. Not complaining: Omega clearly knows where its bread is buttered, and if other folks are stoked about it, then I'm sincerely happy for them. But to me, it's bound to be another yawn, and meanwhile I feel like they have lines that could use some love. It would be exciting to see them do something truly different in a dressier line. (An answer, in some ways, to the 1908.)

I'm not a chronograph guy either. So I guess when I say the design doesn't speak to me I mean both the look and the functionality. I've had chronographs and didn't like the function. I prefer a dive bezel for timing things. If I need precision I'll use my Timex Ironman (the classic 90's version) stopwatch feature or my iphone.

TBH, I really wish they would do better with the Globemaster/Connie lines. But I know those don't really sell (or is that a vicious cycle 😀 ).

The closest I ever came to buying a Speedy was the 50th blue and white Snoopy. I love the color combination as I need blue in my watch, which is probably why I like the AT's and SMP's so much--they always have a nice blue option. But the price and lack of availability for the Snoopy killed it for me. If it had been ~$7,000 and readily available I probably would have gotten one.

My thoughts are mostly in line with yours. I absolutely love the Speedmaster, but I only own one...the basic hesalite pro. To me, it's the perfect version and what makes it so special is its iconic style. It's not gaudy or blingy, but has a great presence on the wrist. There are certainly a few variants (Ultraman, EW, etc) that I would also love to own. That being said I'm completely burnt out on the endless versions that are available. The model is becoming too watered down while other watches are becoming stale and need a revision.

As for the Globemaster I agree 100%. If the design was refreshed (maybe offered in 38mm with a different bezel and dauphine hands) I wouldn't be able to resist another watch purchase.

The question at the moment is, since we don’t know what’s coming next week: With all there is out there, do you feel the need for another Speedmaster? If they would ask: would you like us to come out with a new Speedmaster model, are you interested in that? At the moment No.

Ofcourse we all know when it’s released next week we all want one.

I'm a chronograph fan too, I have half a dozen as well but it's more El Primero heavy 3 vs 2 Speedy's (not counting an X33) and 1 Carrera. All are keepers and although I don't know what's coming I'm pretty sure there won't be a 3rd Speedy.

The last few Speedmasters were pretty 'meh'. Nothing for the real aficionado or collector.
