I guess according to some people’s comments. Some sellers here are part of organized crime. Because many of them have sold repro 516 end links or 6 end links. So I guess they are part of the mob. Or should be banned from the forum. Like come on. As long as people are being up forward and aren’t trying to take advantage of anyone. It’s all suppose to be fun. People can do what ever they want with their watches. Since when is there a book written out there of what we must do in hobby’s.

The one where the laws are written? 😁

I do not want to spoil the fun, so if you really want to buy fake parts, please, at least check who did them and from whom you are buying these. I'll stop there

Aldo recreates bakelite bezel inserts on early sm300s. I dont consider him a crook for doing so. I'm glad he does bc it looks nice on my 14755 and I can preserve the original bezel should I ever feel like selling

Yes, but you do realize that Aldo leads the Famiglia le Bezelia crime syndicate right?

They are well known throughout the world...and feared 😝

That is exactly what I stated. The reason I bought is that there is no way to pass it off as real...it might as well have FAKE etched on the back because of the color.

It might as well have “fake” etched on the front as well...no need to see the back.

You can belittle the notion, that organised crime groups are not within the watch market

However money laundering, and unaudited income re-location, are rife… Watches and watch parts, help to facilitate the legitimising of money, from other enterprises…such as Human trafficking

I have actually been into ‘bricks and mortar’ vintage watch shops…which were in fact, just a front, for moving money around…I can immediately think of one in the North of England, and one in South Germany…both subsequently raided, and closed down

Vintage watches are a highly tradable asset, that can be casually worn on the wrist…and if discreet…are simply never noticed, as one crosses borders…and are easily converted into untraceable ‘crypto currency’

Ever wondered why / how… very ‘High End’ watches, originating from the Cayman / Virgin Islands / Bahamas / Bermuda / ‘pick any tax haven’ ?…suddenly resurface years later,…in utterly pristine condition ?

For me it comes down to a simple point:
It is your Watch and you can do with it whatever you want (as long as it is not intended to deceive people).

We do not have to like it nor should we impose our rules on other people.
Please do not forget: It is all about fun.

Off my soapbox.
That's what I have been trying to say in my first post in this thread but suddenly I'm mocking people.

Everyone has a right to do whatever the heck they want with their watch..it's their money, it's their watch.

Whether is it to gain more likes or to become more popular on the internet or street cred... That's their business.

I wonder why isn't @lurk41calling out Seiko Modders, or hell, even microbrands that OPENLY copy submariners GMT with fauxtina don't get called, criminal organizations ????

By simply buying a counterfeit part of a registered trademark and importing it into another country
Well that’s two criminal activities right there. 😗
Add sending it by mail if it’s in the US that’s another one. 😉

So you think if you get something confiscated at the border it doesn’t go into the same database that is used at the airport.

I’m just giving you guys facts. The more you all think it’s OK it’s my watch it’s my money.
Newsflash the guy doesn’t make them. He buys them from the same people that attach them to fake rolexes.

I’m done here as I have said all I am going to.

I have nothing against @watchknut ( or the members here ) at all as we have chatted and I have bought a lovely watch off him with no issue.

But once you get into the murky waters of buying fake parts it’s up to yourselves.
I myself want nothing to do with it.

No outrage. Just like to know that new members and people to the watch game know the both sides.
Work in import export game for a gov agency 😉

Yeah, when I read OP's initial post, it sure seemed to me that one of the reasons he shared with the community was to show how far these replicas have come, and how diligent members have to be.

Work in import export game for a gov agency

Does this agency have jurisdiction over the transaction in question?

Idk man I just think we can have this conversation without getting bent out of shape.

I'm going to close with this thread at this point as it is starting to violate our clear not fakes and no counterfeiting rule. I would remind everyone that fake parts are only discussed here for the purposes of helping people avoid them and illegality is not tolerated on this site.
