·thanks mac - is there a buckle that you could point me towards? It's for a ref. 2374-6 similar to the photo (but w/out radial numerals).
A buckle from 1945 is likely plain and probably not signed, depending on country of origin.

I thought this buckle was genuine but after seeing one in a Classified described as a fake, I'm no longer sure. Would be glad of opinions from those who know more than I do. I can't even remember where I got this or how much I paid, so if it's a fake it's not a big deal financially, just a bummer that my only "Omega" buckle isn't. Sorry about photo quality, not my area of expertise....
What strikes me is the accent on the e of Oméga. In French you don't put the accents on capital letters. On the other hand my guts tell me it is legit. It is a AW. buckle because of the profile and the marking in inverse direction but without the logo. It will fit in "the missing link or buckle " paragraph as the ancestor of AW. buckles.
I suspect not because ACIER INOX is supposed to be two words, but the Omega symbol looks a lot less blobby than many.
Since my Omega watches of "this age" are all American market, I worry less about marked buckles because the watches likely received US-manufactured straps in 11/16" with unmarked buckles.

B bbozicI found this one on auction but i have never seen this style of buckle before with the Omega logo in a square. What are your thoughts on it? From what era do you guys think it may originate from?
Dear All:
I noticed that only a few messages above, many good folks here feel that ACIERINOX without a space between ACIER and INOX indicates a fake tang buckle.
I just bought this on ebay. may i ask if you guys feel this is fake or real, please?
thank you gentlemen in advance for your experienced views.
