I’ve had this old Omega buckle opened on the top of the curve of the omega applied logo. Very peculiar, haven’t seen many. My apologies for photo quality and for not being very visible the opening.

    Phew, what a thread...
A few days ago I took a flyer on a bag of buckles, mostly Omega. They all appear used which, in my innocence, I think is promising. In short, I'd be very interested to know if anyone can spot an obvious fake among them. And, in the worst possible case, if anyone can identify any genuine ones...

Hi there and thanks. There's not a lot more to show of the last one which, I think, is certainly a hand made item. Nothing stamped on the reverse.
Only a couple of fakes! But that's what I'd hoped given that most of them are obviously used. One steel version has already found itself relocated at the end of a croc strap on a T17.

Evening to all. What would a buckle look like for 1930's or 1940's men's winder? Bought a new band today and need a buckle! I realize these will be almost impossible to find, just curious. Guess I will just settle for 1950's (have seen these pics within this thread).

This thread is amazing and extremely helpful. Thanks OP. Interested in opinions...real or fake 16mm? It was an optimistic purchase...

It doesn't look so scuffed up from a normal distance...these closeups surprised me.

Unfortunately it is the usual eBay fake.
    Kind regards.

Several fake clues, e.g. the "molten" Omega symbol and "ACIERINOX" instead of the correct "ACIER INOX".

Friend of mine found it on eBay. He wants to buy it and asked me...

If it is from an italian eBay seller called mad_max it is fake. I speak from experience.

Thanks for your reaction! I’m not sure who the seller is. I’ll ask my friend.

Any remarks on the visual aspects?

Compare with @omegastar ’s “fat” Omega logo buckles in the start of this thread. They are much sharper in appearance.

Would you say that the sun logo is extraordinary symmetric and the rays are quite equal? Or is that possible. Didn't see one like that up front. Thx.

Just look at the front. The logo is not sharp.
