Stu, there's strict rules on the site about posting for sale/want to buy ads. You can read the rules in the stickies at the top of the FS and WTB fora. That said, when it comes to buckles, eBay is often your best bet. Feel free to start a thread in the general discussion area with images of buckles you've found and someone will be able to help with what are correct and what are fakes/reproductions.

    Welcome to the Forum.

@Stu53 Get one like these. I guess you have an 18/16mm strap, but Cousins UK sell 18/14mm straps if you find a 14mm buckle.

First of all, a big thank you to OP for this informative thread. I was actually looking for Omega buckles to go with a vintage Omega Geneve I purchased in 2014, but was unsure of how to check for the authenticity of some of the offerings on eBay.

Would appreciate it if anyone could help me check the following links!

Also, saw a few Omega buckles on the eBay seller, Watchadoo's page. Are his Omega buckles legit? Seen his name mentioned around here.

    Thanks for any input!

Wow. Thank you OP and the other contributors to this thread. My 168.017 C Constellation came in today- and although I suspected I had an equally vintage band, the Omega service center didn’t vouch for the the 19/16mm leather band /tang-pin....just the rest of the watch. So when the watch arrived, and after reading this thread ( albeit post purchase) it looks like I got lucky anyway and have an original ... 395738FC-88F4-4D60-A042-4FE5382084B3.jpeg 1B0A89D6-141D-4C50-94FD-2770B487F17D.png 54B6E55A-3246-4486-B417-E5A925F456ED.jpeg

Thanks for the help! Appreciate it. Now I'm just wondering if watchadoo's legit. The reverse side of the Omega buckle only has the words "Stainless Steel" on it. Here are some pictures of it.

Fake. Should read "Plaque" or nothing.

Incorrect. Identical to the buckle in original packaging a couple of posts previous.

I am most familiar with vintage buckles, but why would a gold-plated buckle read "STAINLESS STEEL"?

Because they sell a snotload of stainless steel buckles and some of them they plate with yellow or red gold. This easily distinguishes the plated buckles from the solid 18K buckles. Too much work to take that laser-etched mark off to dupe someone into thinking their buckle is solid gold.

On the right is the modern one! I'm not sure if you can buy these separately, hm.
