300MC update imminent?

·3 outstanding updates in my opinion:
1) I absolutely LOVE Omega's decision to outfit this with the 8912, over the 8806. Hurray for silent-rotors!
2) Also like how Omega removed text from the dial. This looks so clean with just OMEGA up top, and Seamaster 300 in the southern hemisphere.
3) The curved domed crystal looks fantastic. If its curvature is anything like that of the Seamaster 60th anniversary, we're all in for a treat. The crystal shape on the 60th anniversary Seamaster was my favorite feature on that watch.

·For me atleast this watch's biggest issue was that it was like abrick slab on my wrist, so far it seems like Omega has addressed this with the thinner profile and curved dome, the lugs also look kind of different. I just wish they made the triangle at 12 bigger and redesigned the bezel but I guess in general these are all improvements. even the lolipop seconds hand just adds to its elegance.

I like the thinner case and the bracelet, but I really dislike how they went with an anodized aluminum bezel, used very thin panerai-style numbers, changed the printing from silver to white/brown, and thinned the minute and hour hands to the point where the typical dauphine profile is broken with a circle. The conical crown is okay, but the way it's shaped makes it look like it's sticking out from the case much more than it probably is. I like how they mirrored the knurling on the bezel, but if the crown were shorter or recessed slightly like the Aqua Terra crowns that would make it look nicer, IMO.
Wow a true sandwich dial!

·As an owner of the previous 300MC I'm really happy with the changes made to the model: I still like the one I have better !
The only change interesting to me is the bracelet. Mostly the endlinks, but if it tapers a bit more that's also a good thing. A bit worried about the unseen clasp with only 3 microadjust positions, though.
The switch to an aluminium insert kinda cheapens the watch, IMO. I prefer the ceramic one with the LM myself. Also no Ti on the Blue version this time...
Regarding it being any slimmer, I see that they have made the bezel thinner (probably courtesy of the Alu insert), the crystal is a bit more exposed, but will likely "look and feel" slimmer on the wrist even if it's probably the same thickness.

·Open numbers and less text on the dial - it seems Omega is listening carefully to their customers. Having said that I’m still happy with my 300MC but I like this upgraded watch very much. With their recent upgrades of the Speedy and now the new SM300, Omega is on a good way to become a very customer focused company!

··history nerdI'm not sure what I think of the update overall. The Panerai-style numerals aren't similar (as far as I know) to any that were used on any version of the original Seamaster 300 from 1957 to 1970, although I don't think they're unattractive. I like the cleaner dial text, but the lollipop second hand doesn't do it for me (just my $.02). Reversing the polished and brushed pattern on the bracelet is a good move. The bezel, though, is a real step backwards. I might be able to get my head around it if the bezel numerals were lumed, but that's not the case. Going from a ceramic/liquidmetal to a painted aluminum bezel may be a moneysaver for Omega, but you can bet the new model won't be less expensive than the old one.

·Looks like the bracelet is tapering. Any idea what the lug width is?
On a 41mm case I would bet 20mm but it's 21 today, so who knows...
Frankly I like step-down numerals. I know they clearly resemble Panerai, but they will follow the way indexes are made.
Agree about non-ceramic bezel insert flop, would strongly prefer ZrO2.

·1. I don’t like the lumed sandwich numerals. Think the old one looks better with the painted numerals.
2. Sad that they went away from the ceramic/liquid metal bezel.
3. Looks like they got the polishing/brushing right on the new bracelet - polished outer links, brushed inner.
4. They also fixed the end pieces so the bracelet won’t protrude and will drape better.
5. Like going back to the classic “Seamaster 300” text at the bottom of the dial and nothing else.
6. The leather strap on the older model looks much better than the 2-stitch strap pictured on the new one.
All in all, I’m still happy with my old version.

·I think the aluminum bezel isn't a cost-saving measure but rather something to position the 300MC even further towards the vintage nuts; hence the new 'Heritage' designation for the line. The PO and 300M lines both have ceramic bezels and are wonderful modern divers.
I do agree that I'd hope to see the price come down though of course, and obviously that won't happen, but I doubt it's just to squeeze us

·Anyone read the WUS comments? Someone mentioned Omega revamping the PO line. I hope this happens too and they go back to the coaxial 2500 sizing of 42mm dial and about 14mm thick.

·That’s quite a bit of updating on their heavy hitters in 2021 then. We know the Speedmasters, Seamaster 300, and now the PO lineup. 2021 is going to be a huge year for Omega if that’s the case.
I am told 2021 was always going to be the PO update. Most of the others were slated for 2020 but got delayed due to the pandemic.
