300MC update imminent?

Just stopped by my local boutique as I happened to be at the mall and needed to kill some time before my lunch pick up order was ready.

According to the manager (who said he had seen the new releases but wasn't allowed to take pictures of them) the 300MC is due for an update in the next couple weeks. Anyone else heard this? He only mentioned it because I showed an interested in the full titanium model as I've started to missed my steel model which I sold a few years back.

Who knows I think if there were some solid rumors it would already be on here and the other well known forums but I guess only time will tell.

It's news to me, although I haven't been in my local Boutique since before the lockdowns in March. That said, I don't get the sense that it's a line that needs a refresh in the next few years. It was introduced in 2014, and other than the words "Master Co-axial" as opposed to "Co-axial Master" on the dial, it's not exactly out of date with the rest of Omega's newest models.

Think about the possibility, though, of a second-generation Seamaster 300 that's modeled on the mid-1960s version, with a fully lumed bezel. I'm in.

Hopefully they'll make it at least 2mm thinner
possible if they threw in an 8806, but then we would lose the hour wheel failure feature we all love

I heard something similar when visiting a boutique but they hadn't seen it yet, they only had the news an update was coming. I assumed there had been no additional news because it was getting pushed back (perhaps way back) due to how the pandemic was affecting everything. I hope it is released in the next few weeks, that would be great. I assume there will be a move to 'Master Chronometer' on the dial and am hoping for some twisted lugs.

oops I thought this thread was about a new 300M. The 42mm one. I’d love a 39mm version of that....
The confusion is understandable - some of the nomenclature overlaps. But technically, this is a Seamaster Diver (or Seamaster Professional):

This is a Seamaster 300:

I’ve heard something very similar. The timeline I was told is “some time this year”. Hopefully the new one is thinner like the new Bond seamaster.

Does this mean the current 'old' model would go down in price in an AD or the grey market...?

Funny... If this was the Rolex Forum everybody would be speculating about the discontinued model going UP in price...

I think it depends on how much the new design differs from the first one. There may well be a modest increase in the price of the discontinued model, but given the fact that the grey market price is hovering in the neighborhood of $4000, while the MSRP is $6800, I don't see any reason for concern in the near term.

I think there is plenty of them out there currently, the demand would really need to jump for the price to get to MSRP or above on the gray market.

The 300MC isn't that popular compared to the 300M Diver so I don't think the prior version will ever trade above MSRP. Even the very popular 300M Diver traded below MSRP not too long after the release.

I wanted to try one. Was at several ADs in two cities.

First: everyone brought my the diver (SMP) when I asked for it

Second: after specifying (and sometimes even showing a picture) there was not a single model in stock.

So, yeah, maybe there will be an update? With a new name?

I'd be very keen on it if they
slighlty reduce the watch thickness, and make the dial and indices less drab which means giving them a sharper colour scheme.

I've heard this rumor as well - gotta bring the 300 up to spec and make it a Master Chronometer. Would be great if they update the endlinks and the PCLs on the bracelet while they're at it. I've got no issues with the size and thickness otherwise.
