300MC update imminent?

You're describing the wrong picture. Rainking wasn't asking about the 2 watches on NATO. Rainking was asking about a different picture which showed the MC on a rubber strap.
Gotcha, that's what I get for participating on the forum while driving!

I just dropped my SM300MC at the AD to send to Omega Service to check.
Recently it started to run fast (14spd).
It's still under warranty, let's hope the turnaround is not too bad, I'm already missing it !

Pardon? Sorry if I'm obtuse but I've never seen that rubber strap on this watch from Omega, and I don't see it on omega.com. The Omega site isn't always the clearest to navigate, so if you have a link to that strap, please share. I believe it is an aftermarket strap, and appears to be the Hirsch Accent strap, which I discovered on my own after asking the question: https://www.hirschstraps.com/products/hirsch-accent-natural-rubber-watch-strap-black
My mistake, sorry.

Ahahahahaha, I thought one of us was smoking some great stuff LOL
Thanks for the clarification, fellas, beat me to it, haven't been on the forum the past couple of days.

PS: Stop looking at your phone, let alone a website, while driving, even at red lights. Seriously.

Actually the passenger trying to multi task while trying to navigate. Just easier to say I was driving.

Seeing that picture of the Bond / Titanium makes me wonder if that titanium case and that highly praised titanium mesh strap will be used for a more “standard” Seamaster professional 300m. Seems ideal? I would jump on a new version of a titanium SMP 300m. I have the old version from the early 2000s.

Dang rumors ... I was almost set on the SMPc before this thread.

Fingers crossed .. 40mm, modern lume, shorter lug-to-lug .. the waiting game begins.

That's pretty much my wish-list too, along with a slightly firmer, more precise bezel action (a la Pelagos).

Dare I post a glamour shot of the watch that we are all so patiently waiting to see updated?

So... just got back from the AD minus watch 🙁

They offered me around a 9.5% reduction off the SS version. I’m a rubbish haggler so said I’d go away and think about it then I’ll try and hash something better out by email 🤦 She also tried to make it look like a big saving based on the price increase - which I did point out isn’t the price currently...

The assistant ordered me the watch in specifically for me to try on and is holding it for another week. I couldn’t help noticing what looked like a little dent in the 6 index (looks like a dark patch in the rubbishy photos) and questioned it - she said it looked okay, I didn’t argue but I’m definitely convinced it isn’t quite right - a dent in the lume?! Going to question this further and see if they can adjust the price on a slight but noticeable defect.

It’s all fun and games isn’t it!

For what it's worth, my SM 300MC appears to have a similar dent like surface of the index. I do not think it is a defect but more a function of the texture of the material, but I am certainly not an expert.

Are you considering the pre-owned market all? I've seen this model sell for below $4k, sometimes below $3,500.

Thanks, I appreciate the lume is textured but this seemed like an obvious dent - just didn’t look right.

I haven’t ruled out pre-owned, something I need to look at in more detail. Think if I go down that route I’d have to save the full amount first as 0% finance probably wouldn’t be an option. Trouble is if I wait longer / see what the update does to prices, the Omega price hike will come into play.

They only have that one piece? That dent on the lume would probably bother me as well. Looks too obvious and jarring.

Yep, just the 1 she ordered in for me to try. With the dent.

(apologies for hi-jacking the thread btw)

OMEGA has posted marketing material for this model today on it's social media accounts. Makes you wonder if an update is imminent or not.

Maybe they're trying to sell off the remaining stock before the update is released causing the old stock to be discounted even more.

If they do update it, I'd doubt we'd see much of a change aesthetics wise. It would probably have the Master Chronometer on the dial with a certified movement by METAS and yet still retain the current look of the sandblasted dial and cut out hour markers. I just don't see them changing the current look of it too much.

Just got mine yesterday after a month wait. I took the bracelet off right away (with all the plastic still on it) and put it in the box and keeping it on a Nato.

I noticed recently that prices even on the grey market have been creeping up on these.

However, they’ve ordered one in so I can try it on and she mentioned about the 6.6% price increase in September.

Another price hike? Wasn’t there one a few months ago? Or do these happen twice a year?
