Just amazing. Who would have thought it possible that the Brothers Davidoff could purchase an eBay 2998-2 and in a few weeks, reunite the Speedie with it's "original" bezel. Will wonders never cease?![]()
In the future, you can ask us, we didn't buy it from EBay ourselves, but always easier to assume I guess. We are always straightforward and open to criticism if we make a mistake. Please feel free to email us if you have any questions or concerns in the future.
Thanks for the email and yes if we didn't know, then we are happy to correct it. We didn't buy it from EBay ourselves, but the seller or re-seller probably did.
No worries @DB1983. Pardon my jokes. You know we OF members have little to do and make feeble attempts at humor.
More importantly, perhaps you would like to comment on this recent thread regarding the appreciation of vintage Omegas.

It’s still a nice dial!
Wasn’t it cleaned ?
Cleaned a little I think but the lume still looks the same to me.
I wonder what they used to clean? As there seems to be a patch of discolouration at the upper top half.
I think it's a little dangerous to read too much into one photo of any watch - that could easily be an outdoor photo with a passing cloud.
This 2998-2 has the 2915-3 long hour hand. Sometimes this hand is seen on 2998-1 and 2998-2s.
The hour hand is longer than on most 2998’s but not quite as long as on a 2915-3 with alpha hands.

I believe there are only (2) 2915/2998 Triangular lume Hour Hands.
