The tropical dial Ed White for 55,000CHF is nearly as good.

Everything is relative, but the client is happy and that's the most important

Just amazing. Who would have thought it possible that the Brothers Davidoff could purchase an eBay 2998-2 and in a few weeks, reunite the Speedie with it's "original" bezel. Will wonders never cease? ::psy::::psy::

In the future, you can ask us, we didn't buy it from EBay ourselves, but always easier to assume I guess. We are always straightforward and open to criticism if we make a mistake. Please feel free to email us if you have any questions or concerns in the future.

Thanks for clarifying, @DB1983. This is a very passionate & perceptive group. We sometimes make mistakes and/or jump to conclusions. It's not personal. Glad you stopped by.

Thanks for the email and yes if we didn't know, then we are happy to correct it. We didn't buy it from EBay ourselves, but the seller or re-seller probably did.

No worries @DB1983. Pardon my jokes. You know we OF members have little to do and make feeble attempts at humor.
More importantly, perhaps you would like to comment on this recent thread regarding the appreciation of vintage Omegas.

Essentially, it's the purpose of forums, which is why I do my best to reply or answer questions.

This 2998-2 has the 2915-3 long hour hand. Sometimes this hand is seen on 2998-1 and 2998-2s.

Cleaned a little I think but the lume still looks the same to me.
I wonder what they used to clean? As there seems to be a patch of discolouration at the upper top half.

I think it's a little dangerous to read too much into one photo of any watch - that could easily be an outdoor photo with a passing cloud.

All the photos of this watch have shown the same discoloration, so the passing cloud isn’t the reason this time.

Fairly certain that the first two hands are the same length, the long hour.
Different camera angles, on different dials (with slightly different lume length perhaps) can deceiving, especially since the hand length difference is very small.

FYI, MWO version 2 is a bit more informative and also list 2 versions
B1) Long Hours 10.8mm
B3) 10.0 mm
