... but it seems that whenever they've built road cars, the racing team suffers ... and they are building a lot of road cars.

Interesting point.
It will be interesting to see how that develops over time.

I'm banking on Red Bull pulling it off with Honda. Next year might be an adjustment, but I think with the knowledge Torro Rosso may lend them, they could make it work out quite well in 2020.

Great drive by Lewis to get the win. McLaren is really falling apart. Major changes are needed now that they've been exposed without the Honda excuse.

Although I'm a fan of Seb, I'd be saying the same thing if it was Bottas that tagged him...
But I think that was just a racing incident.
Seb had a fantastic start, got boxed in, and had a lock-up (which I'm sure is easy to do on presumably cold brakes and in someones slip)
There have been plenty of other times with many other drivers where no time penalty had been handed down.

Quite right.
What about Verstappen's comments now on Vettel? Made me laugh rather than seethe - he has to be joking about what is/is not 'acceptable' - or, maybe he's got a self-awareness by-pass. Best just to ignore, and I remain generally pleased by his contribution to the F1 scene, but it's going to be 2-3 seasons before he achieves the balance between aggression and self-preservation that'll be needed to convert his natural speed into championship-winning capability.

Heh yeah I watched the video of him an Ham watching the replay in the cool-down room.
I was just thinking...yeah ok guys.
At the end of the day yeah it was Seb's fault, but he admitted responsibility and we all move on...

So, anyone got money in GRO to make a horses arse of the start and cause a pile up first corner?

What a disaster for Mercedes. Front row lockout to a double DNF and a blown strategy. Mercedes strategy really needs to get it together.

Exciting for the WDC though, Vettel ahead again, and p3-6 very close!

Alonso got P8 so I expect him to talk about how this was his greatest race ever and no other drive could do what he did today.

Question about the situation at Ferrari, is there an open seat there? RAI not signed? LEC in next year possibly? He's on great form currently.

Only 2 drivers are confirmed for next season of the big 3 teams, Vettel and Max. Dani, Lewis, and Bottas are all assumed to be resigning with their current team. Only Kimi is up in the air with LeClerc impressing in a Sauber making Ferrari give serious consideration to him.

This popped through on my email. I'm sitting here without glasses Please tell me you meant "remaining" , not "resigning".

Understood from the start of the race Merc had confirmed their line up, hence the RIC push into RB contract.

Resigning as in signing a new contract not resigning as in leaving.
