Wasn't aware the new owners of F1 had introduced a 'Wacky Races' phase after lap 40
Everybody was given rabies in their drink after lap 40

Would love to see the verbal beat down Christian Horner gave to his drivers.

RIC off to Ferrari after that I reckon. Whilst it's great on paper to have 2 tough late braking racers in the team it will always lead to this asshattery.

So you would rather see the driver's title won on team orders like Mercedes and Ferrari do? No asshattery there, just actual racing between team drivers.

Disappointed for Vettel, but glad he went for it - after all, we usually say we like our champions to take the title by virtue of race wins rather than just accumulating points. Also, those people who like Ham (why?) can't play their violins for the time being, claiming that their boy has no luck. And Ferrari has now proven over several races that the car/powertrain is this year at least on a par with MB's.

Surely Verstappen was guilty of weaving?

Here in England our Channel 4 tv station says that Perez is the most successful Mexican of all time - whatever the stats, no one who like me recalls Pedro's 1970 Spa victory for BRM (and all those great 917 drives) will hear this as well-informed comment. Fingers crossed that Perez will lose third to Vettel over the DRS issue!

Not quite, no mention of team orders from me there. More differing driver/ driving styles could help avoid this sort of thing. Could also be argued Force India have a similar issue with their two - no quarter given.

Another great race , lots of twists and turns , Loved to see Vettel crash out again ( not a fan of his ), Shame about the RB's , Verstappan is becoming quite the liability , Licking the stamp and sending ti didn't work this week for Ric ,Got to feel for Bottas though , had it in the bag . Who'd partner Verstappen next year ? If Ric went to Ferrari .

Verstappen with the double move to block his teammate. He did that quite often the past few years and the stewards let him get away with it. Now he really screwed his team over.

Grosjean crashing under SC was a big wtf.

I’m a Lewis and Mercedes fan and glad he won but the race should’ve been Bottas’s win.

Great race, Lewis got lucky, good for him!
If you consider great racing to be crashes, safety cars and overtaking through pit stops then it was a great race.
Wacky racers is a fair description.

The quote about Perez was also on Sky and it jarred with me as soon as I heard it. I immediately thought of Pedro, and what a crass statement that was. There really cannot be any comparison. I was at Brands that day in the rain when Pedro drove through the field in the 917 after being black flagged, truly inspired driving. I also thought of Spa in the BRM, and going two abreast through Eau Rouge again in the 917! Showing my age here I guess, but I find it difficult to get worked up about today’s racing, which is more of a technological exercise managed from the pit wall and most ‘overtaking’ takes place during pit stops.

That BRM was a good looking car and being the days of the DFV the sound of that V12 in the back was wonderful, remember the slipstreaming race at Monday with Jackie Oliver in the BRM? At that time I would go to races and actually use my Speedmaster for timing!
Getting off topic now, time for bed!

We are of like mind - and experience. It's sobering when you find broadcasters - who many people probably think authoritative - are so ignorant about things you, yourself 'lived': it's a sure sign of advancing age when what others see as history is your own life experience, and - as in the case of Pedro and Seppi - your own fond recollections: they don't make 'em like that no more!

Most Podiums inF1 for a Mexican driver the 917 wins don’t count.

Poor Bottas... haha Vettle...

Final RB crash... Max was weaving on the front straight to defend, kinda a nono. The crash... right on the verge of a double move... inexperience on Max’s side... racing incident with blame mostly on Max.

What Max did do massively wrong was the earlier contact between them. He was lucky he didn’t put Ricardo into the wall, how no penalty was applied there is beyond me.

Kimi getting hit was the third cars fault that pushed him into Kimi.

Max needs a true smack down... even excusing the crash what he had done earlier was BS, and he really shouldn’t have weaved on the front straight nor defended the inside after he started the drift to the right.

wait, wasn't it last year or the year before they put in a "verstappen rule" to get him to stop this exact kind of BS? But was it specified to only under braking? The whole part about commiting to one move to defend into a corner.

I think Max only got away with it because it was his own teammate that suffered from the results of his typical stupidity.
