Lovely. I see they drew inspiration from these when creating the later Co-Axial DeVille in my collection.

It's curious that they are using the words De Ville now on the dial. Is your one called a De Ville Prestige like the older ones?

Omega called it the De Ville Co-Axial Chronograph - https://www.omegawatches.com/watches/de-ville/co-axial-chronograph/48415031/
If I recall correctly, mine is from 2004 and they are still using the De Ville on the dial of the current collection https://www.omegawatches.com/watches/de-ville/gents-collection/product/

.....Yours is exactly like mine, which I love it dearly until now.... an elegant and robust daily wearer.....

Agree! It is a good looking watch! 👍 How about a wrist shot? 😀

The 861 is so tough that you sometimes hear stories of people using them for 30 years without servicing and because I really want to keep this one I decided it was important to have it checked out quickly. The winding action felt smooth but required more pressure than my other manual wind watches, however I gather this is fairly typical for the 861. I also tested the reserve and it lasted just over 48 hours. It was was running +20 seconds per day, which I am sure could be improved with regulation.
Agree with that with my 1996....it's a hard wind but reserve is well over 45 hours in my case. Not sure on accuracy but when set, seems to keep very accurate time. The dealer I bought it from serviced it and was so confident, gave me a 2 year warranty. I'm delighted with this little fella.

Timegraphed mine the day I got it (last week); pretty good performance

Winding is pretty smooth, just like last few 1861's I had. Havent tested total reserve, but it is more than 24 hours

I'm not fanatical about these things but I checked the 861 a few weeks ago and it seemed to be running at +7 seconds a day when worn on the wrist. A bit more more if left unattended in a box. If treated sensibly and given the occasional service I suspect an 861 should outlast you and your grandchildren. The only caveat, which I apply to all watches is to keep it away from water. Mine has a reserve of over 48 hours.

Hi all,
I just wanted to add a few pictures about mine 😀 I think this is an awesome watch for its price. You get a legendary movement with an awesome case size. Perfect dresswatch.

Looks terrific and in very good company next to the Speedy. Mine is currently away for a service and due back in a couple of weeks.

I just purchased one with the original box and bracelet as well as a deployment strap. I had to wait quite a bit of time to get it because it was being shipped from across the pond. I checked the listing a few times and for some reason looked at the people bidding against me. Two (0) feedback bidders drove the price up from $800 to $1500. Turns out those two bidders only bid on this sellers items and are likely the seller himself setting a reserve (shill bidding). After confronting the seller - he essentially ignored the fact he has done it with 8 of his high end watch sales and told me I could return it. I love the watch, but am not sure if I should keep it for $1550 knowing he cheated me.

If you like it would suggest you to keep it, seems to be in great conditions

That's a tough one. It's a very nice watch and not a bad price considering the included extras, nevertheless nobody wants to look at a watch and feel like they have been deliberately cheated by the seller. I'd be curious to know what others think. Yes you can return it but you are still out of pocket and he has essentially broken eBay rules at the very least.

That's essentially my problem. I want to keep the watch, but am a little nervous that if he is willing to cheat on price that he may on other things. When I get home I will maybe upload some photos of the other components (warranty, instructions, box).

I reported the seller, and may call Ebay again to see what I can do. I am guessing they will say - too bad, return it.

I guess I was hopeful the seller would just say, "yeah sorry about screwing you. Will you take $100 and we call it a wash?" No such luck...

That would be an admission of guilt, which is probably why he is just hoping you will think it's too much hassle and keep the watch. He doesn't sound like an honest seller though.

Personally I'd want to see that movement in your shoes and check the serial numbers etc. I actually had a problem getting the back off mine, so I was relieved when the watchmaker came back with the service estimate and everything checked out properly. For some strange reason the winding action felt very different to a Cal 861 Speedy I have.

I may try to remove the back - but initial numbers check out. I am not sure if I should risk damaging the case to confirm further. Goodness I like the watch - but I really hate knowing that I was conned haha. Is the clasp an authentic Omega or is it a knockoff? I will surf the forums to see, but I thought it should be brushed.

It looks like that watch was serviced or repaired in 2012. The numbers on the case back look OK from what I can tell. I know mine was one of the last made in 1997 before the Cal 1861 came in and mine starts 4833, so at a guess your one could be from 1996 or around then, depending on their production numbers.

I can confirm your one has the same reference ST1450050 as mine, which is listed on the estimate I have here from the watchmaker. Your strap is very different from mine, but the strap on mine looked brand new and unused, so probably not the original. Your actual case back looks shiny in that image and all the others I have seen have a brushed appearance on the plate central part.

Wow! First time seeing this particular watch. It really is striking!!! Kind of like the Audrey Hepburn, it's a simple yet stunning beauty with a healthy dose of elegance!

They are certainly good looking and feel solid as well, yet clearly a dress watch. I am convinced these will become much more expensive in the not too distant future.

I think this is my next acquisition. Great compliment to the FOIS! I'd better get hustling with saving up. 😀
