I am hereby offering an exquisite Mido Powerwind from circa 1954 in stainless steel with a rose gold bezel.
The case is a classic 33mm Taubert case in stainless steel with brushed sides, mirror polished, drilled, lugs and screw-down, decagonal case back. This design is proper mid-century high tech and the finishing and solidity places Taubert as a top tier manufacturer - contemporary Omegas cannot hold a candle to these.
The four digit number between the lugs matches the last four of the serial number on the inside of the case as it should and the case condition is exceptional. Apart from a very slight ding and a matching very small scratch on the side, the case is flawless and razor sharp. I have followed the Mido Powerwind sales on eBay and on other platforms the last three years and nothing bar a NOS one I spotted, none has been close to rival this one - it really is in an outstanding shape. The case back has some superficial marks.
The silver coloured dial features golden embossed markers and the hands are gilt. All aspects of the dial and hands are flawless and the print is sharp.
The full-rotor 917R movement is based on an A- Schild base movement and was serviced a year and a half ago. I have not tested it for time-keeping and probably only used the watch ten or so times post service.
The watch takes a 16mm strap and I will be happy to include the leather strap currently on it.
I am asking €425 for this beautiful Mido, tracked shipping included to anywhere in the world. I will be happy to take returns within a week after you receiving the watch.
