Great thread, thanks for showing these watches!

How about a 145.016 with a black chrono hand? Couldn't find another one, is it legit?

Thanks for your help, take care

Finally bought the watch and I'm very pleased with it 😀

Thanks for your help!

@Risto the cases really look different but it's very nice to wear them, as pointed out by @kov

FINALLY ! After hunting this reverse Panda for about three years, it’s here! 145.006-66, calibre 321, interesting execution with a blue chrono hand observed on several examples during my hunt, but the dial was never 100% perfect, like here 🥰

- Black dial with white sub-counters (R)
- Printed logo
- Radial sub counters
- Long tritium indexes
- Integrated tachymètre scale on a white background
- White hour and minute hands with a tritium track
- Blue chrono hand (18.20mm)
- Black sub counter hands

And a razor sharp case that looks new old stock ::psy::

--> First reference post updated accordingly.
I love it! Congrats!

To me they are a bit like the Flightmaster MK1 - you don’t necessarily like them, until you get one on your wrist - they just wear so well 😉
You are absolutely right. This is a case you have to wear and feel. Except you have a very strong wrist it has a great feeling and look. You have to except that it not a big 4xmm watch. But see what you can get here. A (compared to other omegas cheap) watch with 321 Caliber, radial dials, colored hands, great special variations. A totally underrated watch-line.

Hello. This is actually my first post in the Omega Forums, so not sure if this is the right place to ask for help. I'm keen to find a vintage Seamaster Chronograph 145 to buy myself as a 50th birthday present. A vintage watch for a vintage me. I'm not a big watch person, though I do have a few watches, but want to be sure that what I buy is authentic, accurate, and in decent working condition. After reading the forum posts, looking at past auctions and what I've been able to find online, I've located a few that look to be generally in the ballpark of my budget.

This one is currently on eBay from a seller in Thailand.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/173755502479?ul_noapp=true

He said it's been recently serviced with a full overhaul (no more specifics), and that he's a watchmaker and performed the service. I asked for a photo of the dial without the crystal, which I've posted here. Anyone with more knowledge care to give me their thoughts? Does this look legit? Also, I'd hate to end up having to spend another $1000-1500 on service. I'm not in any hurry so can wait as long as it takes to find something awesome.

Many thanks in advance.

David

Hi David,
welcome here!

Vintage Omega Watches Help, Discussion and Advice

Hands on your watch are wrong and look terrible, tachymetre ring is damaged, Thailand is also a bit of risk.

Would avoid this one!

Welcome, David!

That is great Seamaster (except for condition).

I am not familiar with these Seamasters (although I'd like to have one with cal 321), but you need to ask yourself are you willing to live with a such a condition watch. The tachymeter outer ring will probably wear out if cleaned. The hands have been replaced. The case seems polished. If I were looking for a nice watch for my 50, I'd buy condition-condition-condition first!

Hello David, welcome.

As said, the case is somewhat worn due to polishing, and the dial is not very attractive. More concerning is the fact that an 861 movement is installed, rather than the more desireable 321. The caseback shows the model as 145.006-66 which should have the 321. A subsequent model (145.016-68) transitioned to the 861 movement with a similar dial and case. So, unless there was a period of overlap in the transition in movements (Kov?) I’m afraid that the watch is a Franken and should be avoided.

Mine says hi...

I do not think this watch makes any sense :

a) I am not aware of any ‘overlapping’ period
b) the case, particularly the pushers, are different on a 145.006 compared to 145.016

Maybe the case is 145.016 but the caseback 006. Maybe something else. Anyway, @Davidfeder212, I wouldn’t spend my money on such a watch - the quality is really too bad, not talking of inconsistencies...

I second all the previous posts.. Stay far away from this watch. You can find great ones inexpensively so why go near this? Cal 321 early more desirable than 861 but the right 861 wouldn't stop me at all from buying the right seamaster. .this isn't that watch

Wow, thanks so much for this post. I bought an "exotic dial" 146.016-66 seamaster in the early 2000's from someone in Montevideo on an Ebay auction. I bought it on impulse really, because I loved the look and because it was pretty cheap. Over the course of many years, I was never able to find a single picture of a like model. Because of this, and because of the absence of the "T" marking on the dial, I figured it was just some watch redial or franken someone put together. I took it to an authorized Omega service center in my area and the guy who runs it swore it did not look like a redial, but really couldn't add much more. Never really regretted it though because it's a beautiful watch and a pleasure to wear. Nice surprise!!

You cannot post that and then not add photos. Seriously, pictures, or it never happened.
