·Continuing my recalibration today with the sale of this beautiful Omega Seamaster chronograph 145.016 from the 1960's.
The beautiful black dial is in excellent shape and with its silver-white tachymetre chapter ring has a very sporty look. Contrasting white baton hands with a red chrono hand tritium baton indices finish the look. All the lume is still present.
The steel case is in very good shape with some light wear. The original crown and pushers are functioning perfectly. The Seamonster on the case back is well defined. The ref is actually a 145.016-68
The cal 861 is in fantastic shape and has had a full overhaul in the autumn of 2021. The serial number is in the 26 million range which ties in with a ’68. My WM thought that it was possibly the first time the case had been opened up. The movement is in outstanding shape anyway.
I’ve fitted this to a late 60’s/early 70’s plain black calf band that I originally acquired with a NOS Heuer Autavia and it looks perfect having just the right fit and feel for this period.
