OK. I think I have decided to go with the PO with a black bezel. Any recommended models?

I think the best version with a black bezel is the Planet Ocean Liquid Metal! 👍

You can’t go wrong with the first Gen PO 2201.50, I think these are currently undervalued & if you can find a nice example search for one with the 2500D movement.

The P.O. Is a wonderful watch to wear. I find that I wear mine several days a week.
It’s great in both comfort and style. The Titanium version is lightweight and
Easily worn for many hours.
What sold me was the open back and that fantastic Blue Dial. You visually just
Dive in with each glance. (Pardon the pun). The lume is amazing and You just have to love the Blue/ Green combination of the display hands. Easy to read
Wherever- Whenever.

I have a 2201.50. Everyone keeps saying this is a modern classic and it is undervalued but how is it undervalued if everyone says it is? As an owner of one, would love to see some price appreciation of this piece but it sounds like the price is what it is. It’s got a loyal following but just don’t see the price changing anytime soon.

And here’s mine. Bought new in 2010 and worn 24/7/365 until I bought the Speedmaster in March 2019. The orange was quite bold/bright when new and hard to get used to until it faded and mellowed out. It is pretty heavy on the bracelet - a completely different watch on a NATO or leather.

It's hard to make a bad choice in PO. Have fun with your search!

I’m partial to the 42mm titanium with the 8500 movement. Good value on the used market.

Hi Allan,

You can’t go wrong with a P.O. good Choice!
If you want the latest and greatest go for a modern 43,5mm version.
Just be prepared that it sits rather high on the wrist, depending if you like that or not and also if you want to wear it under a shirt from time to time this might be a problem.

If you want a great modern classic go with the first P.O. (preferably with the 2500D movement)
Ref. 2201.50.
It sits a little bit flatter on the wrist.
If i wear mine I have it on for weeks and almost need to force me to wear some of my other watches.

Cheers,

Max

222.30.42.20.01.001 is the 1st Liquidmetal Planet Ocean watch, also a limited edition,
2201.50.00 is a regular model, future classic soon I trust.

Allan, you cannot go wrong with any of those watches.

As the person that first said it was a future classic. It’s been going up for the past year or so. Because it’s not going up fast, and there always some for sale no one is rushing out and trying to sort out if it’s a D or not.

There is just not a rush yet, but many of us would jump at a d at the right price.
