Yah I mean I can’t say it makes sense to me from a production point of view, but it’s just not surprising given what I’ve seen. Logically I would expect more consistency from what I assume are closely produced dials. But maybe they were not closely produced, and they did not have photographic record of the last iteration of the dial. But that would mean having to set aside serial numbers for similar batches, rather than handing serials out “on demand”, and that seems like it could get complicated? But maybe not. You could set aside 10 serial (or whatever number) per “type”, just need very good records. Anyhow no way to know, unless we had very very extensive UG production documentation.

I’m extremely late to this party, as usual, but congratulations to the OP on acquiring such a wonderful watch. It’s a special one for sure and has found right person, as the great watches always seem to do.

Along 😁 I've put it on my list of things to do but since I'm not very busy it is moving slowly 😎
