Do you have any Mickey Mouse watches? (Mickey Mice?) A few years ago I was checking EBay on a regular basis for a Genta Mickey Mouse. Then I joined this great Forum and lost interest in Mickey. A NYT article from Nov 1st announced a $16 500 Mickey that is already sold out. See pics taken from NYT. The cat is not happy with this thread.
Bought from a buddy for a Disney trip.... his own Seiko mod. ended up selling it back picked this up shortly after so started thinking....... picked up a black monster and got to work. easy swaps.....same movement in four cases ps @Duracuir1 this was in response to not being able to get one of the original Genta Fantasy Mickeys for that Disney trip many years ago. At the time they were going for around $5000. I think now unobtainium
It's crazy....I had a Genta Mickey that I bought in 1998 for $2600, in 2014 I wanted to sell it but not a lot of interest from dealers. I finally did consign it to Antiquorum and I netted $4700. I was happy with that, but prices now are just getting silly.
These two (Genta) sold at Phillips Hong Kong. Today, my wife came home with the Timex ($12) and the Waltham ($21). Both seem to work just fine. She felt that the Waltham was a mistake. Looks ok to me. See below.
There is a guy I run into at my watchmakers shop who took me to school on Mickey Mouse watches big time. That’s all he does now. It started out as a hobby for himself, turned into a bit of an obsession and now it’s his business. After running into him a couple times we built up more of a friendship and walking out we went to his car where he took out a box with numerous “high dollar” Mickey Mouse watches. Doesn’t seem like he has trouble moving them I guess if that’s all you focus on you build the contacts and know what you are doing. I don’t knock anyones “thing” but to me just seeing Mickey Mouse on a watch automatically gives it a 50-100 dollar price. That’s probably why I’m stuck in this middle class hell, I’m not thinking outside the box.
My first watch that I got from my parents, probably like 45 years ago. Had it serviced not long ago and it works really well. But I dont wear it since it is sooo small.
From "Disney Productions". Not running and don´t know how to open it. But I like it somehow. Kind of Dynamic-style .
Speaking of Mickey watches, I just saw this new box set release from UNDONE. UNDONE DISNEY SPACE LEGEND UNDONE introduces a limited edition box set of time instruments for the wanna be space legend inside all of us. The UNDONE Disney Space Legend box set celebrates an iconic Disney World moment in 1975 where Mickey Mouse greeted both astronauts and cosmonauts enroute to tour the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
I found one recently in the junk pile. Popped a new battery in there and she fired right up. I was excited to give it to one of the kids but they have no interest. It’s a bit small for me. Also, the bright sunlight just made me aware that it needs some Polywatch.
Of course ... I also have the iPod Nano what can do watch faces. Micky mouse dial (apps) have been on apple devices for a long time. Disney bought Pixar so they could get Steve Jobs too bad the honeymoon did not last. Now I need to do a screenectomy on the latest 5 dollar apple watch from goodwill ...
yes.......a mouse . and another from Undone..this one sitting FS in my watch box (not posted on OF because we are serious here.....)
I was actually just looking for one - I have an unexpected trip to Disney at the end of the summer and would love to sport a handsome Mickey Mouse watch. Am cruising ebay, but DM me if you have one for sale!
