Here’s my Connie of the same era- these things really are of the space age- very similar in styling to the Speedy MkII. What I love about Omega (as opposed to the brand with the Crown) is that Omega was on the cutting edge of design, they didn’t keep flogging the same design over and over. Yes, the years that followed this produced some of the most hideous watches Omega ever produced, but they get an A for effort in keeping with the zeitgeist. These are the last gasp of the in-house movements before the quartz crisis and outsourcing kicked in.
