Was hoping for a new Omega purchase this year, but with the news from yesterday might have to postpone that. At least I was able to get this black SMPc a few years back. Positive news is that it will get more wrist time now.
1908 vintage 18 size Hamilton 946 in its silver case and swinging from the "Kidder chain." A kind friend made a gift to me of his grandfather Kidder's solid silver watch chain. Only the fabulous Hamilton 946 is deemed worthy of the chain.
A sacrificial watch today. We’re preparing for a train show this coming week end, and I have a lot of “scut” work to do. Organizing our display materials, last minute checks to be certain we have everything we need, and loading my truck. So I have resurrected this artifact from my collection. Dial name BIRKS refers to the Canadian firm Henry Birks & Sons Jewellers, and it is likely about 50 years old. Equipped with (I suspect) an ETA movement of some description. I seldom wear it, other than on days like this, even though the style appeals to me.
