This 111 year old survivor was rescued from a bin of hopeless case, donor watches, and future prospects wherein it had reposed for over 50 years. It needed a balance staff, foot-hole jewel, mainspring, glass, second hand, reconditioning, and a better case. Decades ago, the former owner seemingly decided not to bother fixing it, so it was retired. In my stash, I had everything I needed to resurrect an otherwise hopeless case, and turn it into the 1911 vintage Elgin, 18-size, 15-jewel artifact in the picture. In the picture, this watch is shown to be 6 seconds fast, after 4 days since last re-set. Worn 12-hours daily, resting face up 12-hours daily, it is 6 seconds fast! It is keeping better than railroad time, and it is not a railroad standard watch! It is better than many of my railroad standard pocket watches, accuracy-wise. It is on my
@DaveK mystery lanyard, and currently in my pocket.
