The distinctive Scaeva pyrastri you captured in flight is a great cue to your continent. Of course, the time zone helps too. Great photo! Lucky, or were you trying to catch the pied hoverfly?

edit: I love a good weizen on a hot day.

I’ve been away awhile, I Lost my rock, my dad, and everything else seems pretty small right now.

I’ve been traveling back-and-forth to where he lived, but I did take my bike, and one watch; I got in a nice ride with the first sweat proof watch of mine that caught my eye as I hurriedly packed, but this Aquascaphe is pretty darn photogenic in the right light…

…and with the right brew!

I was in Perpignan southern France doing a pre purchase inspection on the A319. The C130 was there for a heavy maintenance visit and they towed it out to perform engine runs in the late morning, beautiful sound from the ugly duckling.
