Back at the end of August I posted this picture for WRUW taken in a hallway at a local Emergency Department:

I'd suffered a pretty severe trauma to my left hand and wrist. I followed some really bad instructions to enter a garage. Ouch!

About a month in I was at the "Jason meets The Mummy" stage:

Today, a couple of days short of 6 weeks into this thing I was just able to strap a watch on my wrist with the longest strap I have.
I apologize if anyone is squeamish about this stuff, but I'm so pleased to be rid of the splint I just need to share. I've still got a LONG way to go. Even though the edema is reduced my hand and wrist is still very swollen. The pisser of all of this is I'm a bracelet guy; none of my bracelets - not the Forstners, not the Bonklips - will fit over my hand. My hand is still unusable so I cant swap bracelets for straps. Aaarrrggghhhh!

Anyway, I have visited this thread and vicariously worn watches with you guys. Thanks for sharing.

First picture is from a while back, I don't post many pictures of my Khaki here despite it being a much worn watch; a beater if you will. Note how close the tips of the lugs are to the edges of my 7.5 inch wrist:

This is a 38mm case IIRC

Looks like a 33 here:

Strap all the way out

I can't tell you how badly I have missed my watches.

On holidays watch ( going no further than the boat ramp due to travel restrictions )
Isn't starting a trip from a boat ramp more fun than from an airport? I've always thought so...

Phew - the bandaging looked awful. Glad you’re ticking over again.

Guess which one, today.

You may have your suspicions.

Go to the head of the class if you guessed right. My manual wind, day/date Gruen 512CD from circa 1965. It had very little use before it was retired, to repose in sad looking condition for about 45 years, in a drawer of scrap watches. Seeing beyond the ratty crystal and the tarnished gold plated case, I thought it had potential. I love it!

Ya know.....Invicta watches come with bracelets big enough to fit loosely around a footballer’s thigh, just sayin’. Glad to see you back! Wishing you a full recovery...and a smaller wrist. Cheers!

love the watch!! just also like occurrence of same letter when speaking .... helps keep audience’s attention (or so I like to think)
