Explain, please. What miracle of Southern Hemisphere gluttony do we behold?

Sorry late come back to this thread - been a busy day. Surprised no one from Oz answered this, but these are chocolate covered aniseed rings. They seem to be a specifically Australian thing.

So a chewy licorice rings coated in chocolate. I get these sent every year for my birthday, and of course I eat a bunch every time we visit.

If you get chance to try one, I'm sure you will like it unless you hate black licorice or chocolate.
