This is my Dads Omega Geneve Automatic. He wore this every day whilst I was growing up. Talking to my mum last week, she thinks he had it when they met in 1972, but is certain he bought the milanese bracelet on honeymoon on Malta in August 1974. In her words "it had the blue leather crocodile or alligator strap on it... it was rather dog eared... and gone... well... it didn't smell great". This is the watch that got me interested in watches, and because my dad had an Omega, he bought me an Omega my my own as a 21st birthday present. Brand loyalty runs deep... even if I can't afford the new goodies that Omega sell these days. 😉

...I grew up with Steed and Peel ! (b/w-TV) - rgds - h.u.
(b/w-TV) Happy days, it was 14" PYE black and white telly. Ted Lowe the snooker commentator famously made the on-air mistake of saying "for those of you watching in Black and White the Pink is next to the Green."

I'm merely the caretaker... my dad had a massive stroke in 2009, and has an advanced and aggressive form of Alzheimer's so has been in a full care nursing home since 2012... my mum just feels happier that the one Watch nerd in the family keeps it safe. 😉

As officially certified corduroy spokesperson I hereby confess that I from time to time also use tweed.

My wife sent me to Costco to pick up a few things. She said to get anything we might need. What could possibly go wrong??

My new Samurai has only gained 2 1/2 seconds in the past 48 hours. Excellent timekeeping for such an inexpensive watch.
