Ahh Petit Le Mans... bittersweet as Road Atlanta is one of my favorite courses, but it's the end of racing season.

Elgin circa1918, seems there were a few years where these colored glass crystals were all the rage with the hipsters.

Those crazy youngsters.

At one time, the dye used to colour plastic crystals was available in bottles, from material suppliers. The dyes came in numerous colours. These dyes would not work with glass, however.

Vintage 1969 SM Pro Moon ... had it serviced at Omega Swiss a few years ago with dial and hand replacement. Holding original dial and hands in reserve. I have owned this beauty for many years. One of my alltime favorites.

New arrival, Hamilton Brock, with unusual variant blackened numerals and blued steel hands. This was one of their 14K models, ca. 1948. I put it on the lizard strap cause the stretchy band was strangulating my wrist...

@LawBrk no digital sorcery here, just flat out awesomeness.

Yes it is awesome.....but what's the story with the lollipop second hand? I thought it only came on the Bond MCA. Isn't yours titanium? So, what gives? I have the titanium and would have loved it to have the lollipop.🥰

Don't you just love the that word patina..... great looking watch..

Yeah.

1)Sounds like a name for a favorite aunt. "My Aunt Patina never forgets my birthday!"

2) Sounds a heck of a lot better than decrepit. "Old Billy there has a great patina, Bless his heart."
