Haven't had this one out for a while, will give it a spin this morning. 😎

Bulova Marine Star, Valjoux 7731 (descendant of the earlier Venus caliber 188), circa 1970s.

So your initial thoughts?

First impressions: It wears smaller than I thought a 40 mm with virtually no bezel would. Maybe because the lugs are so short, reducing the case's presence and increasing the bracelet/strap's travel across the wrist. Here next to a Mooncase for comparison. Focus on the lugs.

To make the lugs that short, there's a "divit" in the case to make clearance for the springbars! I kid you not!

The lume is cool and remains legible all night. Oddly enough, it looks really big when looking at the lume alone! Whatever illusion is going on disappears.

Luv the dome crystal, vertical symmetry. elegance, and simplicity. YaY!

1965 Bulova Wrist Alarm on a period correct expansion bracelet.

I haven't worn an expansion bracelet since the sixties. Now I'm wondering why. This is really pretty comfortable.

I'm wearing the alarm to remind me I have procrastinated too long. I really need to start working on my taxes. As you see I'm posting here instead...
