Had an important meeting today. Chose my weapon carefully. The meeting started 10.30. Just had time to take a "happy dial" at 10.10.

Meeting went well. From this experience I can recommend a rose Connie 14381, cal 551 for all important meetings.

Could not choose picture. You get them all.

Right now, wearing a project watch I was involved with in 2013 on another forum.

May seem sacrilege to some 😲, but the Chinese can make (and copy😉) some beautiful watches, this one, with a SeaGull ST-8000 tourbillon:

Well that's pretty! What is it?

Me?

It's a real UG Compax but a modern (1987) version with a Lemania movement.

It's only worth around 1/5th - 1/6th of the last in-house references from 10 years earlier.

I feel a little bad for the guys who bought these watches. They were purchasing the reputation of a manufacturer which basically no longer existed.

I have the original store receipt from Tourneau NY and it was $5000.00 (5,182.00, to be precise) with sales tax in 1987 dollars. Ouch.

Back home from a week's holiday at sea. I travel with one watch only, so it is nice to have choices once again. For this evening, I choose this one...
Pure class! Love the strap and the contrast with the beads and the dial.
