I’ve owned this watch for nigh on 35 years. I knew it would be a “project” watch when I bought it, but never got around to doing what was necessary to resuscitate it…….until just recently. A 1967 Accutron Astronaut. I bought the “coffin” stainless steel bracelet at the same NAWCC mart. I spent far too much time trying to salvage the original movement, and finally conceded that it was a lost cause. But my Accutron stash yielded a good donor movement, and I was able to make one watch out of two. Far from perfect (I know where the warts are), but it will do until a better one comes my way.
Speedy Saturday with my -71 on a modern Omega mil green polyester NATO…and remembering my old “office” while on Delta pilot furlough in the early 2000s. For the record, I was in the front seat of that “office”…NOT the back seat…
