After looking at thousands upon thousands of vintage watches, I've decided that a steel case with red or gold applied dial furniture and hands is most aesthetically appealing to my eyes. Your watch is a perfect execution of this design.

During my recent visit to Washington DC. Had an opportunity to visit the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum and see some of the Speedies that they had on display. A bit disappointing that they didn't have any of the original Apollo 11 watches on display. They seem to have them on loan somewhere else. Currently on display was Harrison Schmitt's Apollo 17 moon watch. Here is a shot of my '68 pre-moon transitional being introduced to his older cousins.
