New arrival!
Sturmanskie Gagarin produced third month 1951 year! Only the hack function does not work! All original to the model but has seen quite a bit of service...

That's quite a find! Congratulations!

My first vintage watch purchase, made just over nine years ago. Of course I paid the requisite n00b tax of 100%, for an over-polished and poorly running watch. But I love it nevertheless and always enjoy wearing it. Heck, I spent yet more than the value of the watch on service and a premium OEM strap 😀

When Gruen closed their Canadian office, the managing director landed with Rolex, Canada, as managing director. When he found out I was a watch collector, he gifted me two NOS Gruen sample watches. This being one of them. Recently, a collector saw a picture and really liked it. I’ve owned it for 35 years, and I doubt if I have worn it a dozen times. So, today, I decided to wear it. The movement Is a 17-jewel calibre 430, and the case model # is 703. Vintage? Maybe mid to late 1960s? Today, it received its first polish, a light touch up with rouge on a Selvyt cloth to remove a bit of tarnish.
