Dublin are All Ireland Gaelic Football champions for 2023. 82,300 spectators for an amateur sport is not bad. Up the Dubs.

Good day all. This 1959 Omega Geneve was my first “keeper” when I started my collection. Still a favorite.
Great minds think alike 😀

Switcheroo from vintage Speedmasters to a 1861 on a Rothco protective band [protective flap retracted for pic] for skateboarding at the local skatepark…

You synchronized the chronograph with the main hands.
A poor GMT? 😁

Going with the beater bumper auto with my all time most favorite expansion bracelet while listening to my newest speaker acquisitions, lovely sounding!

Very cool, sir! 😎

I would really dig having a true track bike like yours. 👍

Although my 2010 Schwinn Sprint has track geometry and Reynolds 853 main tubes, it’s not a true track bike like yours. My Sprint came from Schwinn as a fixed gear but it has pannier mounts as well as bottle cage mounts…and it came with brakes. In 2013 I modified it to a road TT race bike and I raced it on the road as a fixed gear TT bike…

LATE ENTRY: I continue to ride my fixed gear Sprint quite often but not with the Zipp tubulars or aero bars pictured above. I will say that my fixed gear Sprint attracted quite a bit of attention when I showed up with it at road TT races since I was the only one racing a fixed gear TT bike…as well as it being the only Schwinn. I had to study the terrain prior to road TT races and make a “best guess” what the optimal gearing would be…I have the entire set of Dura-Ace track cogs [13, 14, 15, 16] and an incomplete set of Dura-Ace track chain rings from 50 to 55. Most of the time I was running a 50/14 or a 51/14 combo for longer TTs and then a 55/13 for shorter/flatter TTs. Since I’m a masher, I would try to get an average cadence of about 75-80 rpm during a TT. I currently ride it recreationally and on “spirited” group rides in a 50/15 combo with Mavic Open Pro clincher wheels laced up to high flange Dura-Ace track hubs.

Honestly,
Until I see you riding a 1979 AMF Roadmaster, color me meh…

Second holiday selection made, however it might now be my first again as my son has called dibs on the quartz GMT grand seiko I posted earlier.

That’s gnarly you’re doing TTs on a Fixie. Beautiful rig too. Love those wheels but I wouldn’t use them regularly either. The only problem with a true track bike is not having a track to ride. My wife hates me riding it because it has no auxiliary brakes. It can get sketch in the city even though I’m very comfortable on it. Even if wanted to add them, I can’t, not drilled for them and I don’t really want to replace the fork nor would I ever drill it.

I hand built my other fixie. Like you I prefer steel. I used a modern Cinelli Vigorelli Columbus Thron frame and decked it out completely with vintage Campy Record, including a pair of NOS vintage Campagnolo high polish wheels. I run a 50 16 on the track bike and a 50 14 on the Cinelli. I picked up a 13t NOS Campy rear cog last year to try it out but I haven’t mounted it yet.

I hand built a steel Road frame that’s also a Cinelli w/ fully modern Campy Record (I love Italian bike design) but I rarely ride her. Fixed gears are my jam. Keep up the gnarly work! It’s so awesome you do TTs with a Fixie. Again, beautiful bike and you’ve got awesome watches too. Always fun to talk bikes and check out photos of your watches!

Cheers!
