ELO is my favorite band I know the lyrics to every song. One summer dream is forgotten for a reason it goes on too long without much progression. Face The Music is not my favorite ELO album my favorites would be Discovery(Last Train to London), Eldorado(I own a Seiko that was made the same month and year the album was released), and Out of the Blue. Or maybe Time very hard to chose. Unfortunately for me ELO has not been to the west coast since September 2016 in LA funny enough I was in LA the week before, but alas I could not stay another week. Funny fact Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs is worth more than Jeff Lynne. I listen to ELO everyday and have for years. Their worst album is their Secret Messages(1983) I only like the song the album is named for and four little diamonds(don't bring me down like). In cars I am planning to purchase I am only buying mostly from 1970-1986(ELO's existence). I plan to get a 1973-76' 240/300d Mercedes. Long story short I love ELO dearly, but find that song I can only listen while relaxing on a summer day. The next song on that album is good Nightrider. ELO is everything I love synths, classical music, The Beatles, disco, and much more. Alas I have gone on too long I'm Steppin' Out. ALSO the first link you showed I can totally see the Jeff Lynne in that one listen to the Traveling Wilburys Not Lonely Anymore in all but vocals very Jeff Lynne. At 0:24 you get a very Jeff Lynne guitar lick. Well this time I'm Steppin' Out(ELO or Joe Jackson your choice).

Yep, that could be ELO with a bit more strings and JL singing. For me the great ELO albums are New World Record and Out of the Blue though Eldorado and Discovery have their moments too. I haven't listened to much of the later stuff. As far as I know there was never any connection between Jeff Lynne and Graeme Edge so maybe it is just coincidence but HYEW has the same melancholy that underlies much of JL's work, and is IMO the only really good track on that album. Here's one of JL's recent offerings, sounds like Hank Marvin meets early Joe Meek!

Adrian and Paul Gurvitz did some great work without Graeme Edge:

It's been unusually sunny here in Dorset, UK. I'm working on the beach, got the headphones in and listening to Boston... More than a feeling and Blue Oyster Cult, Don't fear the reaper.

Memory Lane reminds me of a mix of Böc and Kansas. At about 48' it looks like Jeff Lynne's face in Jupiter. Stream of Stars is pretty good not as good as maybe The Whale but holds on its one well. ELO unless something crazy changes will always be my favorite/one bands, but have listened The Olivia Tremor Control? Only made two full length albums. I love it because their stuff is like 90s pyshedlic beach boys(pet sounds/smile) and the Beatles(Rubber Soul- to the end of Beatles). I will link both here but REMEMBER this skip on Cubist's castle Green Typewriters 5-8 as they are all just ambient noise for 20 minutes and on Black skip the bark and below same problem black and cubist both have an amount of ambient noise that some may not like but it is worth a try. Best way to enjoy make sure you can listen to album in full. Jeff Mangum of Neutral Milk Hotel was formerly a member of OTC.

I bet you're like me and get time sucked in YouTube every once in a while.

Jody Reynolds ... Influential rock pioneer. Creator of “Mood Rock”. Endless Sleep” was a big hit. Gave up the biz to become Elvis Presley’s guitar dealer and Palm Springs real estate tycoon. Well worth seeking out. Music is dark and haunting. If you like Chis Isaak , Roy Orbison, Twin Peaks Soundtrack .. you’ll dig this.

I love Thief! Cruising selling some cars and driving your Eldorado around. Great movie!

Couldn't imagine Benny 'King' Carter was with other jazz masters, Ben Webster, Shelly Manne as sidemen!!
