Happened to be round at friends this evening and was forced to watch the horror that is X Factor. Got home and listened to the whole of this just to reassure myself that real music composed by talented musicians and songwriters is still available for those who appreciate such things.

In horological terms, X Factor is like the worst of Invicta (other execrable brands are available) - soulless, derivative and having no originality.

This, on the other hand is like a mint 18k vintage pie pan Connie Deluxe 馃榿

No lead singer has such a wonderous mustache. Joan Crawford is terrible though.

You'd swear this was a lost ELO track if you didn't know better. Classic Jeff Lynne-type chord change at 1:02.

The man himself:

ELO is my favorite band I know the lyrics to every song. One summer dream is forgotten for a reason it goes on too long without much progression. Face The Music is not my favorite ELO album my favorites would be Discovery(Last Train to London), Eldorado(I own a Seiko that was made the same month and year the album was released), and Out of the Blue. Or maybe Time very hard to chose. Unfortunately for me ELO has not been to the west coast since September 2016 in LA funny enough I was in LA the week before, but alas I could not stay another week. Funny fact Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs is worth more than Jeff Lynne. I listen to ELO everyday and have for years. Their worst album is their Secret Messages(1983) I only like the song the album is named for and four little diamonds(don't bring me down like). In cars I am planning to purchase I am only buying mostly from 1970-1986(ELO's existence). I plan to get a 1973-76' 240/300d Mercedes. Long story short I love ELO dearly, but find that song I can only listen while relaxing on a summer day. The next song on that album is good Nightrider. ELO is everything I love synths, classical music, The Beatles, disco, and much more. Alas I have gone on too long I'm Steppin' Out. ALSO the first link you showed I can totally see the Jeff Lynne in that one listen to the Traveling Wilburys Not Lonely Anymore in all but vocals very Jeff Lynne. At 0:24 you get a very Jeff Lynne guitar lick. Well this time I'm Steppin' Out(ELO or Joe Jackson your choice).
