Since we have a good Tchaikovsky mix in posts here I will add that I finished off a 30-year-old Miller & Kreisel subwoofer just last week on the cannon fire contained within the "1812 Overture". Even better than Led Zeppelin turned up loud.
In my early teens we had to sing Carmina Burana for the annual school concert. Although we were were being taught Latin at the time we couldn't understand the words of it. Carmina Burana is in medieval Latin from more than 1000 years later than the classical we were being taught. And it had words and subjects that were deemed unsuitable for pubescent ears!
60 years later I can still sing the melodies. Badly now, just as then.
Edit: Listening to Miles Davis playing Autumn Leaves as I type this.
