When you start a song with the chorus. Of course the Nile Rodgers approach.

Seiko Saturday / Seiko Sunday. Two Blue Note Records classics along with my new Seiko SKX173. Jazz guitarist, Grant Green's, Matador, was recorded in May/June 1964 after the classic Idle Moments session but not released in the US until 1990. It's a lost Blue Note masterpiece. My guy, Bob Cranshaw, is on bass. If he's on the record, I typically love it! Also digging Wayne Sorter's Speak No Evil. Recorded Christmas Eve, 1964. Elvin Jones played drums on both recordings. Speak No Evil features Freddie Hubbard on trumpet, Herbie Hancock on piano and Ron Carter on double bass. Happy Labor Day OF!

Bought this just for "FM" but I'm letting the rest wash over me. Asia might be next.

It's the 40th Anniversary of Iggy's "Lust For Life" (still have my original cassette)

The best track on the album in my opinion:

Love the cassette!! Nice video on Fall In Love With Me with Homme! Nice. For my money, The Passenger is the best song on the album. Could be his best song ever. I also really liked Siouxsie & the Banshees cover of the song. Thanks for posting!

Last night listening to Depeche Mode, live. Great concert. Dave was full of energy 😗

Thanks for sharing!! Really bummed I missed them this time around! My favorite show was on the Music For The Masses tour - April 29, 1988 at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA. I believe OMD opened. Such a great live band!!

Sorry you missed it 🙁 I saw them last in Paris 2013 but didn't compare to last night at all. He was on fire last night.

One YouTube commenter: "Compare these classy ladies who could actually carry a tune, to the current crop of tattooed skanks."

Could have a point.

k.d. for me, please. I never could stand the song until I heard her sing it. I have just about everything she's done.

Give this one a listen.

kd lang - I remembered there were some other fans here. We saw her in Toronto last week...

Yes she was barefoot the entire time.

We were 5 rows back and that voice is just amazing...she performed the entire Ingénue album in celebration of the 25th anniversary of that one, but she also performed some other tunes (including a cover of Hallelujah of course).

She also has a great sense of humour, but if you know her music from the Reclines days, you already know that. If you get a chance to see her live, I highly recommend it!

This one sounds like the theme to a James Bond movie that never got made. (She's 80 now and still gigging!)

Oh man, that must have been great! Thanks for the pics and write-up. Man, I remember buying Ingenue, and I just about wore it out. It was so unlike any other albums I had at the time, unclassifiable and yet just so right. Well, now I know what I'm going to listen to this afternoon....

Eating a clubhouse sandwich in the Oak Room in downtown Toronto enjoying the hell out of the Blue Rodeo records they're playing.

Proper Canadian band.

My jazz run continues. In May and October 1956, Miles Davis and his first great Miles Davis Quintet featuring Miles (trumpet), John Coltrane (tenor sax), Red Garland (piano), Paul Chambers (bass), and Philly Joe Jones (drums) went into the studio and produced enough material for 4 albums. The resulting albums on The Prestige label, Cookin, Relaxin, Workin and Steamin, are four bop classics meant to bring the Quintet's live repertoire from the mid 50s onto vinyl. Given Miles' remarkable output from the 50's into the 90's, to me these albums are at the core of my love for his music. Highly recommended and a great starting point for anyone looking to get into this vital music.
